Extra Parochial Marriage Registers PDF Download

An extra-parochial baptismal register for 'Baptisms solemnised in the District of Guichen and Rivoli Bays in the Counties of Robe and Grey'. The earliest baptisms were performed by Adelaide's Bishop Short, with later ceremonies being the responsibility of other clergy. The first baptism was on the 13 January 1850 for John Walter Lord, the last was for Beatrice Jarrett (at the Destitute Asylum) on 1 June 1857. A marriage certificate for Joseph Inglis Hewlett and Annie Reid on 18 June 1881 has been pasted in, and there are loose slips of paper for the baptisms of Maria McConkay and George Tasker Parkins on December 20 (no year given); entries for 8 March 1865 at Robetown for George Edmund Dobson Burrows, Clara Vernon Dudley Burrows and Louisa Stanway; and the baptism at Kadina May 25 (no year) for Eliza Ann Jefferies. Also includes registers, vestry books and other material for Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University. The marriage registers and stubs were for ceremonies performed by Rev. Judge (chaplain at the QEH 1964-1983) and Rev. Bramsen. Not all the ceremonies listed were held at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital - see SRG 94/M29 (Christchurch, Mt. Barker), SRG 94/A14, (St. Jude's, Brighton) and SRG 94/A45(St. Michael's, Henley Beach). Rev. Septimus Bramsen was, between 1968 and 1973 at various parishes including St. James Blakison, Christ Church Mt. Barker and St. Judes at Brighton. One marriage register contains just one completed certificate for a ceremony performed at Bram Leigh Receptions, Croydon, (Victoria)by John William Roffey of Millswood.
