This performance criteria, developed for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is a baseline document for criteria and standards for the design, development, technical evaluation, and procurement of solar heating and cooling systems for residential buildings in accordance with the requirements of Section 8 of Public Law 93-409, the 'Solar Heating and Cooling Demonstration Act of 1974.' The document is intended to establish minimum levels of performance with regard to health and safety and the various aspects of technical performance.
