They say love is blind yet love doesn't hurt. For Sabrielle 'Bri' Russell, she learned early in life that there was no truth to that statement. With her whole life ahead of her, Bri, along her bestie, Char, was ready to take over Houston, Texas, embarking on trials she never imagined. Bri jumped straight into the campus dance squad, grasping the attention of a local spoken word artist, Wes Nine. She never experienced any kind of love from a man so his tough love seemed normal. It wasn't long after that Bri was faced with deciding if her love for Wes Nine carried more importance than her love for herself. All bets were off as she fought to win the game with the sour hand she was dealt. Will Bri continue to blinded by love or will she emerge as a survivor from the dangerous game of love?

This volume collects, for the first time in book form, stories from the “September Six,” a group of intellectuals officially excommunicated or disfellowshipped from the LDS Church in September of 1993 on charges of “apostasy” or “conduct unbecoming” Church members. Their experiences are significant and yet are largely unknown outside of scholarly or more liberal Mormon circles, which is surprising given that their story was immediately propelled onto screens and cover pages across the Western world. Interviews by Dr. Philip Lindholm (Ph.D. Theology, University of Oxford) include those of the “September Six,” Lynne Kanavel Whitesides, Paul James Toscano, Maxine Hanks, Lavina Fielding Anderson, and D. Michael Quinn; as well as Janice Merrill Allred, Margaret Merrill Toscano, Thomas W. Murphy , and former employee of the LDS Church’s Public Affairs Department, Donald B. Jessee. Each interview illustrates the tension that often exists between the Church and its intellectual critics, and highlights the difficulty of accommodating congregational diversity while maintaining doctrinal unity—a difficulty hearkening back to the very heart of ancient Christianity.

Download Why Men Cheat, What Men Really Think and Internet Dating Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Why Men Cheat is intended to give its readers a realistic look into dating and relationships from an observation standpoint distinct from any book of its kind. Unlike doing research where an author may interview several single people or a few couples with a questionnaire to get their perspective on dating, longevity, and infidelity. Why Men Cheat is based on unscripted access and full disclosure based on the normal day-to-day interaction with would-be friends, family, and coworkers. My observation has been the type of fly-on-the-wall access that we often, after the fact, wish we could have had to better make an assessment of a certain situation. Rather than interviewing a couple or setting up a night to go out on the town to research the behavior of the person being interviewed as most people do in their research, I have had undetected interaction and surveillance of the behavior and true intentions of friends and strangers because I too was part of the dating environment. I have maintained and outside looking in perspective on many relationships and marriages throughout the years. I have witnessed firsthand the start of romance for many relationships but unfortunately been around to see several of those bonds deteriorate over time because of neglect or infidelity. My advice, although sometimes not favorable to what women really want to hear as they confide in me, is unbiased and based on “what men really think.”

Download Modern European cinema and love Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Modern European cinema and love examines nine European directors whose films contain stories about romantic love and marriage. The directors are Jean Renoir, Ingmar Bergman, Alain Resnais, Michelangelo Antonioni, Agnès Varda, François Truffaut, Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard and Éric Rohmer. The book approaches questions of love and marriage from a philosophical perspective, applying the ideas of authors such as Stanley Cavell, Leo Bersani, Luce Irigaray and Alain Badiou, while also tracing key concepts from Freudian psychoanalysis. Each of the filmmakers engages deeply with notions of modern love and marriage, often in positive ways, but also in ways that question the institutions of love, marriage and the ‘couple’.
