At the heart of Rudolf Steiner's Waldorf curriculum is the belief that a child from age seven to fourteen recapitulates the intellectual and cultural development that humanity as a whole passes through over time. Until now, the exact scheme of how the Waldorf literature curriculum, grades one through eight, follow the model of collective humanity's evolution was not clear, even though the effectiveness of the curriculum could be observed. After three decades of being a Waldorf teacher and teacher trainer, the author discovered a comprehensive and practical scheme of ontogeny recapitulating phylogeny while drawing the standard charts and diagrams that formerly had been used in attempts to explain this foundational concept of Rudolf Steiner's pedagogy. It became quite clear that since we teach the "etheric body" of the child from grades one to eight, teachers need to understand what the etheric body is and what it is composed of, and why the curriculum's literature and cultural studies needed to be presented in a specific order that is not historically chronological. The first book of this set, The Eternal Ethers, was written to unveil the mysterious etheric body. Once the etheric body is understood, we need to comprehend why we teach each specific grade content and how it effects the developing child. This book, Eternal Curriculum for Wisdom Children, was created to give ideas and suggestions of what literature is appropriate for students and teachers at each grade level, and why we teach a curriculum that is timeless. Once this is accomplished, we can teach an Eternal Curriculum to the etheric body of the child that matches the development of humanity and offers education that nourishes theWisdom Child in both teacher and student.

The mysterious and often hidden nature of the ethers are revealed in this one-of-a-kind manuscript. Douglas Gabriel brilliantly presents a Theory of Everything that encompasses a wide variety of spiritual teachings from ancient Indian sacred beliefs to classical Greek philosophies, from the voice of ancient gods to modern scientific theories. The ethers were called the tattvas in the Hindu pranayama teachings, quintessence in Aristotle's scientific philosophies, the ether by Newton, and the luminiferous ether by Einstein. These seemingly magical ethers are the component parts of creation that exist as the foundation of all space and are the eternal mechanisms that create life. The theories concerning the seven ethers are, for the first time, compiled and explained in The Eternal Ethers as a comprehensive Theory of Everything that effects every atom and molecule in the universe. Often, limited scientific theories will only uncover one or a few of the seven ethers, not the complete set of seven and their eternal cycle manifested in everything from the planets to the stages of human growth and development. The spiritual scientific understanding of the ethers, given by Dr. Rudolf Steiner and refreshed and refined by Gabriel, brings the best of the ancient and modern together in a clearly understandable fashion and shows the connections between the ethers and the human etheric body. To truly see the ethers as a comprehensive theory that explains creation, destruction, and rebirth requires insight and spiritual scientific imagination that can create new icons that embody these fundamental forces that create the miracle of life.

Question: What do our kids need? Answer: They need wisdom. "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom." Proverbs 4:7 Designed for parents or teachers to use with children from K-5-through Grade 4, twenty-three lessons illustrate qualities of wisdom and godliness. Each lesson is presented in a simple format with illustrations to capture the attention of the child, and supplemented at the back of the book with suggestions for teaching the lesson. Every child of God - both adults and children - should work hard to show these traits more and more, because we love Jesus and want to be like him. That's easier said than done, isn't it? We struggle with sin every day, and we will fail. The lessons remind us that when we do, we will find forgiveness and the grace to continue to get wisdom at the foot of the Cross.

This third Volume in the GOS series brings forth a new synthesis of ancient and modern initiation inspired by The Most Holy Trinosophia, the Freemasonic initiation wrritten by the Comte de St. Germain, and the spiritual science of Rudolf Steiner who was one of the great modern initiates. Sophia Christos speaks through the mental and moral training provided in Volumes 1 and 2 as a modern path of self initiation is taught to the reader. The Seven Pillars of Virtue and the Language of the Spirit manifesting in the twelve cosmic directions is at the heart of this new Temple of PanSophia. Each step of the initiation produces results upon the aspirant and required steps in moral development to proceed. As the aspirant advances into an initiate the cosmological world view in the soul expands to encompass the surrounding cosmos in a consciousnes way that interacts directly with Sophia (Wisdom) and Christos (Love). Proverbs provides compelling answers to the questions “What is godly wisdom?” and “Why should one get it?” But at the end of one’s life, answers often address the past, not eternity. Godly wisdom allows one to thrive in a sinful world. However, Solomon’s teaching in Proverbs was limited as Jesus Christ had not yet entered the world. Old Testament wisdom established a pathway that would lead to a destination through the redemptive death and resurrection of the one who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) for all who believe in Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ as the embodiment of eternal godly wisdom, we are likely to slip into trying to apply the wisdom of Solomon to perform our way through life like the Pharisees. The premise of this book is that Solomon’s teaching about the beginning of wisdom is completed in Jesus Christ, as shown in John’s Gospel and applied in James’s letter “to the twelve tribes scattered among the nations” (James 1:1). The author examines “what, why, and so what” answers that Jesus modeled, taught, and promised about godly wisdom. He also explores James’s eight “so what” practices for developing wisdom with an eye toward eternity.

The subject of the Academy Award–winning documentary The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life, Alice Herz-Sommer was the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor when she died on February 23, 2014. A Century of Wisdom is the true story of her life—an inspiring story of resilience and the power of optimism. Before her death at 110, the pianist Alice Herz-Sommer was an eyewitness to the entire last century and the first decade of this one. She had seen it all, surviving the Theresienstadt concentration camp, attending the trial of Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem, and along the way coming into contact with some of the most fascinating historical figures of our time. As a child in Prague, she spent weekends and holidays in the company of Franz Kafka (whom she knew as “Uncle Franz”), and Gustav Mahler, Sigmund Freud, and Rainer Maria Rilke were friendly with her mother. When Alice moved to Israel after the war, Golda Meir attended her house concerts, as did Arthur Rubinstein, Leonard Bernstein, and Isaac Stern. Until the end of her life Alice, who lived in London, practiced piano for hours every day. Despite her imprisonment in Theresienstadt and the murders of her mother, husband, and friends by the Nazis, and much later the premature death of her son, Alice was victorious in her ability to live a life without bitterness. She credited music as the key to her survival, as well as her ability to acknowledge the humanity in each person, even her enemies. A Century of Wisdom is the remarkable and inspiring story of one woman’s lifelong determination—in the face of some of the worst evils known to man—to find goodness in life. It is a testament to the bonds of friendship, the power of music, and the importance of leading a life of material simplicity, intellectual curiosity, and never-ending optimism. Praise for A Century of Wisdom “An instruction manual for a life well lived.”—The Wall Street Journal “As if her 108 years of experience alone were not enough to coax you, there is the overarching fact that draws people to Herz-Sommer’s story: She survived the Theresienstadt concentration camp and is believed to be the oldest living Holocaust survivor.”—The Washington Post “I have rarely read a Holocaust survivor’s memoir as enriching and meaningful. Get Caroline Stoessinger’s book, A Century of Wisdom, telling Alice Herz-Sommer’s tale of her struggles and triumphs. You will feel rewarded.”—Elie Wiesel “A Century of Wisdom is a stately and elegant book about an artist who found deliverance in her passion for music. Caroline Stoessinger writes with a special purity, as though she were arranging pearls on a string of silk.”—Pat Conroy “As one of millions who fell in love on YouTube with Alice Herz-Sommer, a 108-year-old Holocaust survivor who plays the piano and greets each day with no hint of bitterness, I’m grateful to Caroline Stoessinger for writing a book that explains this mystery. You will be inspired by the story of Alice Herz-Sommer, who lives to teach us.”—Gloria Steinem “I walked on the cobblestones in Prague for thirty years wondering who might have walked on them before me: Kafka, Freud, Mahler. It feels like a miracle to have encountered, in Caroline Stoessinger’s wonderful book, Alice Herz-Sommer, who walked with them all—with a heart full of music.”—Peter Sis “A Century of Wisdom is universal and will enrich readers for generations to come.”—Itzhak Perlman
