Environmental Impact Assessment For The Madawaska Victoria Regional Waste Sanitary Landfill PDF Download

The Madawaska-Victoria Solid Waste Management Provisional Committee plans to develop a solid waste management regional service designed to receive all the solid waste of the region from Connors to Drummond, northern New Brunswick. It is also probable that the proposed waste facilities will receive wastes from adjacent localities in Maine and New Brunswick. This report constitutes the environmental impact assessment of Site 75, selected as the facility site through previous studies 1993-94. Sections of the report cover the following topics: project justification and alternative waste management solutions; project description, including development procedures, operation, and site closure; biophysical setting of Site 75; the socio-economic setting of the region; the methodology used to identify impacts; the identified biophysical and socio-economic impacts; and mitigation, emergency plans, residual impacts, and monitoring. The appendices include site selection criteria, leachate quality information, geologic and biophysical data from the site, and operational forecasts.
