For historic accuracy we trace Rudolf Steiner's 'quest' to bring both these modes together-modern natural scientific materialism (the dragon) and philosophical spiritual scientific knowledge-that lights our path and enables a threefold exploration of our spiritual-physical evolutionary development (Spiritual: invisible - Physical: visible). The 'body - soul' divide: (body: physical sensory mode - soul: spiritual non-sensory mode). Natural Science: Nature and Super-Nature: The use of the term super-natural is very different from the way the word 'supernatural' is commonly used and understood, (fantasy, black magic). Super-natural here equates to Nature and Natural Science: super-natural phenomena are only natural phenomena presenting at a higher or super -though- still natural level. Evolution: Goethe's Naturphilosophie was a metamorphosis of 'Nature philosophy'. In this same way Steiner's Spiritual Science, a higher form of Naturphilosophie, conceived a purely active spiritual element a Meta transmutation had taken place: Naturmetaphilosophie.

Human consciousness is one of the last frontiers of science, and it is receiving increased attention from psychologists, philosophers, and neuroscientists. The EPIC Roles of Consciousness is a major breakthrough in describing how consciousness actually works, and how we can harness this understanding to better know ourselves and others.Accessible yet thoroughly researched, this easy-to-use book presents a comprehensive survey of human-personality models, from Jung through today. Then, author Walter J. Geldart details a remarkable new model called EPIC. This novel contribution to the literature integrates the psychology of consciousness from the pioneers Carl Jung and William James along with three object-type categories from philosophy. The result is emergent patterns of individual consciousness that can be predicted by a mathematical model.EPIC provides an understanding of the ten roles people may play under the in?1⁄4éuence of attention and free will. Its a holistic view of human personality that goes beyond other models, including the eight Jungian Psychological Types, the sixteen MBTI?« Preference Types, and the nine Enneagram Personality Types. The result is a more consistent, accurate and insightful knowledge of why we are the way we are.

Sustainability is about the effective management of nonrenewable and nonreplenishable natural resources. These resources are limited and critical to maintaining ecological balance. A collective effort is required to balance our socio-economic needs with environmental needs. This could be achieved by re-evaluating policies and actions as to how they affect the environment. Sustainability requires changes in traditional practices of doing things and refocusing ourselves to the needs of the earth. This handbook explores the role of sustainability in achieving social development, environmental protection, and economic development. These three areas constitute what is referred to as the triple bottom line (TBL). Sustainability management may help organizations and their global supply networks to re-evaluate their policies, processes, programs, and projects in terms of triple bottom line. Sustainability helps to facilitate planning, implementing, reviewing, and improving an organization's actions and operations to meet ecological goals.

This book presents an original exploration of philosophical questions pertaining to the ways we grasp the Absolute by bringing together the Buddhist notion of interpermeation of all phenomena into contemporary strains of thought in continental philosophy. This text introduces an ontological concept, granularity, deploying it to probe questions concerning the intersection of ontology, ethics, and education. A wide range of issues in metaphysics are covered—including being, nothingness, unity, plurality, truth, change, transformation, subjectivity, contradiction, coherence, potentiality—from the perspective of thinkers such as Hegel, Heidegger, Badiou, Meillassoux, Malabou, Žižek, and Harman. The text deploys granularity in arguing for an ethics of unconditional hospitality within education. This volume is intended for students and researchers working in the areas of philosophy of education, philosophy of religion, and continental philosophy.
