Mommy and her little ones are settling in for story time, and this time it’s the biblical story of Easter that she’s telling. As the youngsters hear God’s tale unfold with its sometimes somber notes about sin and death, they are softly and continually reminded, “But Easter is coming!” By the end of the book, the anticipation has built and the children can celebrate the ending and the glory of Easter Sunday. In a time when children’s Easter excitement often focuses on only egg hunts and candy, this book offers a different—and true—reason for joy and expectancy. It's designed to be read and reread on the days leading up to Easter, telling the greatest story and building a sense of anticipation and celebration in little hearts. Go to bhkids.com to find this book's Parent Connection, an easy tool to help moms and dads (or anyone else who loves kids) discuss the book's message with their child. We're all about connecting parents and kids to each other and to God's Word.

What is the Glory of Easter? Easter is what Being a Christian is all about. The significance of the morning Jesus first rose from the grave is that it shows the morning is a new day, the payment for our sins is paid, our sins were forgiven forever. Easter is about the hope of things that are happening on earth, that more and more people will join us in heaven for eternity. Everything connected with Easter is showing the reality of why we have faith in the future, with optimism and hope for eternal life with God in Heaven. We need to learn to be positive in the face of all the difficulties we deal with on Earth. We must always be actively advancing in our quest to serve Christ. The difficulties we face are real. Our faith in Jesus that he is with us all the time, and holding us up, so we can get through whatever we need too. Why is it hard to get people to believe in Jesus? It is hard for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that people don't want to give up sin. We are all sinners and many people like to sin and therefore don't want to believe that it's wrong. The other main reason is, people have a hard time believing in things they can't see, even the disciples were so distraught about Jesus being crucified, they didn't even believe that he really rose from the dead until they actually saw him and touched him. Unbelief is a natural thing, it's a natural response to the supernatural. It takes work and faith to convince unbelievers. We need to do less proving more proclaiming the great news, and showing them there is something better. No amount of proof will convince someone who has no desire to believe. That's why there are atheists, atheist have no desire to believe so they deny God exists. The disciples reaction after they saw Christ had risen shows it was real. They suddenly turned from depressed broken men, into men that gave their lives to spread the word of the Savior. Why is Easter so special? The resurrection of Christ was so radical because it changed everything. The Resurrection is the entire basis for Christianity, without the resurrection, Christianity would not exist. We need to believe that every day of your life is a new beginning working towards the final goal, spreading the word of the free gift from Jesus to everyone, so everybody can have eternal life in heaven with God. Jesus rising from the grave was very special. The resurrection of Jesus was much different than all other resurrection miracles. All the others were people that were brought back to life, but they all did die again. Jesus resurrection was permanent, never to die again. Jesus could have come back from the dead and went after the Pharisees to get revenge. He didn't do that, he came back and his message was love. He died to save the sins of all of us so we could have salvation. His focus was on the future not the past. Scroll up and grab a copy today.

What Really Happened? Most reasonably informed Christians are well aware that many of the traditions that surround the Christmas holidays have pagan origins and very little correlation with the actual events as recorded in the Bible. However, most of us are surprised when we discover that some of what we have been taught about Easter is not only in error, but deliberately so!

“If you’ve been looking for something different to level up your health, fitness, and personal growth, this is it.”—Melissa Urban, Whole30 CEO and New York Times bestselling author of The Book of Boundaries “Michael Easter’s genius is that he puts data around the edges of what we intuitively believe. His work has inspired many to change their lives for the better.”—Dr. Peter Attia, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Outlive Discover the evolutionary mind and body benefits of living at the edges of your comfort zone and reconnecting with the wild—from the author of Scarcity Brain, coming in September! In many ways, we’re more comfortable than ever before. But could our sheltered, temperature-controlled, overfed, underchallenged lives actually be the leading cause of many our most urgent physical and mental health issues? In this gripping investigation, award-winning journalist Michael Easter seeks out off-the-grid visionaries, disruptive genius researchers, and mind-body conditioning trailblazers who are unlocking the life-enhancing secrets of a counterintuitive solution: discomfort. Easter’s journey to understand our evolutionary need to be challenged takes him to meet the NBA’s top exercise scientist, who uses an ancient Japanese practice to build championship athletes; to the mystical country of Bhutan, where an Oxford economist and Buddhist leader are showing the world what death can teach us about happiness; to the outdoor lab of a young neuroscientist who’s found that nature tests our physical and mental endurance in ways that expand creativity while taming burnout and anxiety; to the remote Alaskan backcountry on a demanding thirty-three-day hunting expedition to experience the rewilding secrets of one of the last rugged places on Earth; and more. Along the way, Easter uncovers a blueprint for leveraging the power of discomfort that will dramatically improve our health and happiness, and perhaps even help us understand what it means to be human. The Comfort Crisis is a bold call to break out of your comfort zone and explore the wild within yourself.
