Was George W. Bush really the "worst president ever"? Immediately following his departure from office, historians ranked Dubya as the 36th best (or seventh from the worst) president in US history. Though that's far from a laudable ranking, I still think that 36th out of 44 is a bit overgenerous. Certainly, incompetence is a difficult quality to measure-there are so many factors to consider. Nevertheless, if we take the global scope of Dubya's bungling into consideration, I think it is safe to say that no president has ever impacted so many people so negatively as George W. Bush.

Hitler rose from corporal to die Fuhrer. "Dubya" from deserter to Commander-in-Chief. Both ruled by lies and propaganda -- Hitler's Goebbels. Bush's Rove. Both were fanatic Conservatives who rammed their credo down the throats of their citizenry, and both Hitler and Bush, became counterfeit Presidents, who torched the democratic institutions which elected them, and then launched bogus wars to subvert dissent into a failure to support the troops. Yet, while both Hitler's and Dubya's heinous havoc found mitigation in their personality disorders, the collusion by American medias in the Neo-Nazi Conservative coup of the United States reeks as the villainy of villainies.

In the 2000 presidential election, the then Gov. George W. Bush ran as the candidate of 'honesty', 'integrity', 'truth' and 'character.' That was his claim and his supporters' claim. After he won the Republican primary by defeating Sen. John McCain, he and his supporters essentially characterized his Democratic opponent, former vice president Al Gore as a 'liar' and an 'untrustworthy' individual. That characterization stuck and Gore never fought back vigorously against those charges. It was not only after Mr. Gore conceded the election (many thought he won), that his former opponent and many of his supporters saw Gore differently as 'honorable' and 'gracious.' Some actually called him "a good man."When George W. Bush became the president, I became interested in observing his policies and actions in comparison to his campaign and post-campaign rhetoric. Simply put, by his claims of 'character' during the presidential campaign, he invited close scrutiny of his policies. I had to observe how his rhetoric matched his actions. If you are interested in finding out about the character of the George W. Bush's administration (so far) and how honest his words have matched his deeds, this is the book for you.

Newsbreaking and controversial -- an award-winning investigative journalist uncovers the thirty-year relationship between the Bush family and the House of Saud and explains its impact on American foreign policy, business, and national security. House of Bush, House of Saud begins with a politically explosive question: How is it that two days after 9/11, when U.S. air traffic was tightly restricted, 140 Saudis, many immediate kin to Osama Bin Laden, were permitted to leave the country without being questioned by U.S. intelligence? The answer lies in a hidden relationship that began in the 1970s, when the oil-rich House of Saud began courting American politicians in a bid for military protection, influence, and investment opportunity. With the Bush family, the Saudis hit a gusher -- direct access to presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. To trace the amazing weave of Saud- Bush connections, Unger interviewed three former directors of the CIA, top Saudi and Israeli intelligence officials, and more than one hundred other sources. His access to major players is unparalleled and often exclusive -- including executives at the Carlyle Group, the giant investment firm where the House of Bush and the House of Saud each has a major stake. Like Bob Woodward's The Veil, Unger's House of Bush, House of Saud features unprecedented reportage; like Michael Moore's Dude, Where's My Country? Unger's book offers a political counter-narrative to official explanations; this deeply sourced account has already been cited by Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer, and sets 9/11, the two Gulf Wars, and the ongoing Middle East crisis in a new context: What really happened when America's most powerful political family became seduced by its Saudi counterparts?

Winner of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education Excellence in Editing Award 2016 Urban studies has long understood the city as a 'text'. What would it mean now to use performance to rethink that metaphor? Performance and the City queries the role theatre and performance play in urban policy, architecture, and civic history, while also exploring their important place in the memories created in the wake of urban trauma.

This book is the unpolished view into the life of one little family in the South. The words are an honest reminder as to why some animals eat their young and why all parents pray for sudden lightning or magic fairy dust to render spontaneous combustion possible at least once a day until all their children move away. It is also kept as a meticulous record by one Southern mommaa diary of all the reasons she prays her grandchildren turn out just like her own precious offspring.

An excerpt, "Miraculous power emanates when wisdom and moral strength and moral discipline determine words and actions that resonate with harmony of eternal morals as opposed to immediate temptations of egoic desire. Miraculous power emanates when we comfort or care for someone in need. Miraculous power of forgiveness can transform a life. Miraculous power of hope can generate a million possibilities. Miraculous power of honesty can cleanse guilt. Miraculous power of atonement can eliminate karmic debt. While miraculous power of faith can move mountains, we possess the miraculous inability to understand that faith is not “one size fits all.” There are many paths to the one Truth. Whether Christianity or Islam, religious faith can cause violence and strife among us. Miraculous power of reason can acknowledge that felicity and adversity are the keys of the same piano from which the harmony of life is comprised, and one Composer wrote the symphony. A miracle of empathy can bestow freedom on those who need understanding and knowledge upon those who endeavor to understand. A miracle of affectionate love can transform lover and loved. A physical expression of love can fashion a portal (conception) through which an infinite soul may once again choose to incarnate in order to experience the awe and mystery of life on this small planet amidst the backwaters of the universe. All these powers to be sure, rest within the Chalice of Miracles, the Holy Grail of our bodies that cradles conscience and nurtures within us a creative impulse that impels us toward Divinity."
