Finding Grace in the Magic When Albert Thweatt began working the night shift in his new job as a paramedic, he realized he would be missing something important. The nightly, family devotionals he had always participated in with his wife and two sons now had to be done without him several nights a week. He hated that he had to miss this special time with his family, so he decided to do something about it. He began writing and emailing devotionals to his wife to be read and discussed with the family. He centered each of these devotionals around one of his favorite subjects and one he knew his family would enjoy as well: Walt Disney World. Disney Devotionals is a collection of 100 daily devotionals each based on a Walt Disney World ride, show, or other attraction. Each devotional begins with some facts, trivia, and highlights for the Disney attraction, then transitions to a thought or lesson based on the same attraction with Biblical scripture references. You and your family will enjoy this fun and inspirational collection of devotionals that will stimulate thought, discussion and growth. Journey through each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks to Disney transportation and every ride, show, and attraction in between. You will acquire lots of fun knowledge about Disney as you also learn about the Bible and the valuable lessons within. Long considered a figurehead of family values and wholesome adolescence, the Disney franchise has faced increasing criticism over its gendered representations of children in film, its stereotypical representations of race and non-white cultures, and its emphasis on the heterosexual couple. Against a historical backdrop of studio history, audience reception, and the industrial-organizational apparatus of Disney media, Seán Harrington examines the Disney classics through a psychoanalytical framework to explore the spirit of devotion, fandom, and frenzy that is instilled in consumers of Disney products and that underlie the fantasy of the Magic Kingdom. This compelling study demystifies the unsettling cleanliness and pretensions to innocence that the Disney brand claims to hold.

Finding More Grace in the Magic When teacher turned paramedic Albert Thweatt realized he would be missing the traditional nightly spiritual time with his wife and two sons due to his new job schedule, he began writing his own devotionals for his family to share. Over the course of a year or two, he wrote 100 devotionals centered around his family's favorite theme, Walt Disney World. He had no idea that this collection of devotionals he kept in a file on his computer would one day become a book. The first Disney Devotionals included 100 devotionals about the rides, shows, and attractions found at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. After the success of that book, several fans began asking Albert when he was going to write another. He decided to take on the challenge. His first task was to decide on a new subject as he had exhausted all the attractions at Walt Disney World in the first book. After considering many ideas and suggestions from others, he decided that he didn't want to stray too far from the Disney theme. Therefore, he chose to travel from one coast to the other and take on the unique attractions found at Walt Disney's original land of magic and fantasy, Disneyland, in Anaheim, California. He also decided to add on the Disney resorts, as well as a few extras, to complete a new set of 100 Disney devotionals. Are you a Disney fanatic like Albert? Or maybe you want to be inspired and encouraged with a daily devotional. Either way, Disney Devotionals: Book Two will be a treasure for all families to assist in growing closer together as they read about one of the most magical places on Earth. This book will provide a lot of inside information about Disneyland, every Disney resort, and a lot more It also includes a new set of 100 devotionals on various spiritual topics with numerous Biblical references. It will help you and your family grow in your spiritual walk. Learning many new fun facts about Disney along the way will be the icing on the cake Disney Devotionals is a must-have for every family who wants to discover more about Disneyland and the Diseny resorts while at the same time gaining valuable Biblical lessons that will help their family grow closer together.
