In the 'Tantric Transformation' we are introduced to the sacred and ancient tradition of Tantra by a contemporary Tantric master, Osho. We are given a detailed map of Tantra: inner man, inner woman; the meeting of man and woman; the transformation of energy through sex, love and meditation. Based on the Royal Song of Saraha, we are not just introduced to an Asian sex tradition but with Osho we enter the higher levels of transformation. Here we find Tantra as a door to freedom: freedom from all mind-constructs, mind games; freedom from all structures and freedom from the other. Love and meditation merge and provide a path to liberation.'Tantric Transformation' is a very alive, concrete book for exploration of our own energy, of our own inner space. You don't just read Osho, you undefine yourself.

Out of the ancient, prehistoric worship of mother earth arose an all-embracing, truly holistic vision of life, the Tantra vision. Tantra - which can be translated as 'the essential thread' -winds its way through the most vibrantly alive and creatively rich parts of every religion. Both Hinduism and Jainism met and were enriched by Tantra. It influenced the Christian Gnostics and the Mohammedan Sufis. The flame of Tantric Buddhism is kept alive to this day by the Tibetan Lamas. This branch, which lives today in Tibet, was founded by Saraha. In a way, Saraha had two masters, one being Sri Kirti, who is in direct descent from Buddha.

This book contains the collected discourses from the books Subhasita Samgraha 1-5 as have been translated into English. Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (21 May 1921 - 21 October 1990), also known by his spiritual name, Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti to his disciples, was an Spiritual Guru, Indian philosopher, yogi, author, social revolutionary, poet, composer, and linguist. Sarkar was the founder of Ananda Marga (1955), a spiritual and social organisation that offers instruction in meditation and yoga. Gyani Zail Singh, seventh President of India, has said about Sarkar: "Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar was one of the greatest modern philosophers of India."Sarkar's system of spiritual practice has been described as a rejuvenation of Tantric philosophy and practice for the modern worls. He denounced materialism and capitalism, and described the universe as a result of macropsychic conation - the entire universe exists within the cosmic mind, which itself is the first expression of consciousness coming under the bondage of its own nature.Sarkar was a prolific author and produced an extensive body of works that includes theories aimed at increasing human welfare such as the Law of Social Cycle, the Progressive Utilization Theory, the Theory of Microvitum, as well as the philosophy of Neohumanism.

In these discourses, Osho offers penetrating insights into previously insoluble paradoxes of life. He reveals how Tantric experience will free us from the destructive Hebraic-Christian dualism that has crippled our bodies, minds and hearts and condemned as evil almost everything we do. With the author as a guide, this book gives readers a new perspective, a new way of looking at themselves and at life and of living in harmony with existence.

Making Sense of Tantric Buddhism fundamentally rethinks the nature of the transgressive theories and practices of the Buddhist Tantric traditions, challenging the notion that the Tantras were “marginal” or primitive and situating them instead—both ideologically and institutionally—within larger trends in mainstream Buddhist and Indian culture. Critically surveying prior scholarship, Wedemeyer exposes the fallacies of attributing Tantric transgression to either the passions of lusty monks, primitive tribal rites, or slavish imitation of Saiva traditions. Through comparative analysis of modern historical narratives—that depict Tantrism as a degenerate form of Buddhism, a primal religious undercurrent, or medieval ritualism—he likewise demonstrates these to be stock patterns in the European historical imagination. Through close analysis of primary sources, Wedemeyer reveals the lived world of Tantric Buddhism as largely continuous with the Indian religious mainstream and deploys contemporary methods of semiotic and structural analysis to make sense of its seemingly repellent and immoral injunctions. Innovative, semiological readings of the influential Guhyasamaja Tantra underscore the text’s overriding concern with purity, pollution, and transcendent insight—issues shared by all Indic religions—and a large-scale, quantitative study of Tantric literature shows its radical antinomianism to be a highly managed ritual observance restricted to a sacerdotal elite. These insights into Tantric scripture and ritual clarify the continuities between South Asian Tantrism and broader currents in Indian religion, illustrating how thoroughly these “radical” communities were integrated into the intellectual, institutional, and social structures of South Asian Buddhism.
