Gregory Fried offers in this book a careful investigation of Martin Heidegger’s understanding of politics. Disturbing issues surround Heidegger’s commitment to National Socialism, his disdain for liberal democracy, and his rejection of the Enlightenment. Fried confronts these issues, focusing not on the historical debate over Heidegger’s personal involvement with Nazism, but on whether and how the formulation of Heidegger’s ontology relates to his political thinking as expressed in his philosophical works. The inquiry begins with Heidegger’s interpretation of Heraclitus, particularly the term polemos (“war,” or, in Heidegger’s usage, “confrontation”). Fried contends that Heidegger invests polemos with broad ontological significance and that his appropriation of the word provides important insights into major strands of his thinking—his conception of the human being, understanding of truth, and interpretation of history—as well as the meaning of the so-called turn in his thought. Although Fried finds that Heidegger’s politics are continuous with his thought, he also argues that Heidegger’s work raises important questions about contemporary identity politics. Fried also shows that many postmodernists, despite attempts to distance themselves from Heidegger, fail to avoid some of the same political pitfalls his thinking entailed.

Marriage is one of the most sacred and pious social events of life in the context of Indian culture. It is solemnized to become a vital bond between the two marrying partners who are mostly two different human souls of opposite sex. It can thus fill one’s life with immense and perpetual joy or it can mean otherwise as well. It has in fact a cosmic relevance for the continuance of the mankind and humanity in the universe. The union of the two persons of opposite sexes makes the beginning or the commissioning of a new family. Marriage is a part of our culture almost since the creation of humanity. It is a socially approved union ship or relationship between two individuals of opposite sex, to call themselves as life partners after marriage. The family grows by the birth of the children, which is a direct manifestation of destiny. So marriage and matters related to it are destined or destiny related as per “Shastra’ s” and Vedic philosophy, which is the crux of the human existence. There is a well-known saying which says that the “Marriages are settled in heaven and celebrated on Earth”.

While given no reason young Saina was banished to the Sulatin monastery. In a decade since, his only achievement-unknown to anyone-is his ability to enter the divine world of Goddessoma. One night in that world he is shown an unthinkable war raging in his homeland Satamabode. Meanwhile his dying father leaves him a sacred scroll for an equally sacred mission-halt the war's devastation and restore the Ten Abodes. It sounded good, but quickly Saina is stripped of the scroll by the ferines in the Garland Forest, shunned by his Sulatin masters in Prayadevale, and severed from his only ally in neighboring Ryadabode. He's not a warrior, not a leader-only a lone young monk, and no one believes can do it. He dare not say his only chance requires capturing aetheric powers hidden in the Body of the Goddess. Welcome to Goddessoma is one of the forceful and fascinating metaphysical fantasy novels in TM White's Goddess Trilogy.
