The man of self-confidence is a master of destiny. He is positive and affirmative. Swami Vivekananda says, “The history of the world is the history of a few men who had faith in themselves. That faith calls out the divinity within. You can do anything. You fail only when you do not strive sufficiently to manifest infinite power. As soon as a man or a nation loses faith, death comes.” At another place, he said, “Let people say whatever they like, stick to your own convention, and rest assured, the world will be at your feet. They say, Have faith in this fellow or that fellow, but I say, Have faith in yourself first, that’s the way. Have faith in yourself. All power is in you. Be conscious and bring it out. Say, I can do everything.”

Download Matthew 1-13 Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The Gospel of Matthew stands out as a favorite biblical text among patristic commentators. The patristic commentary tradition on Matthew begins with Origen's pioneering twenty-five-volume commentary on the First Gospel in the mid-third century. In the Latin-speaking West, where commentaries did not appear until about a century later, the first commentary on Matthew was written by Hilary of Poitiers in the mid-fourth century. From that point, the First Gospel became one of the texts most frequently commented on in patristic exegesis. Outstanding examples are Jerome's four-volume commentary and the valuable but anonymous and incomplete Opus imperfectum in Matthaeum. Then there are the Greek catena fragments derived from commentaries by Theodore of Heraclea, Apollinaris of Laodicea, Theodore of Mopsuestia and Cyril of Alexandria. The ancient homilies also provide ample comment, including John Chrysostom's ninety homilies and Chromatius of Aquileia's fifty-nine homilies on the Gospel of Matthew. In addition, there are various Sunday and feast-day homilies from towering figures such as Augustine and Gregory the Great, as well as other fathers. This rich abundance of patristic comment, much of it presented here in English translation for the first time by editor Manlio Simonetti, provides a bountiful and varied feast of ancient interpretation of the First Gospel.

That night, he'd had a dream about monsters, but it had only been a dream, right? Perhaps not, as his family is now dead, and Leonardo is thrust into work as a slave, living a life of solitude as he plots revenge. Unbeknownst to young Leonardo, a dark and mysterious entity has been watching him carefully, waiting for the opportune moment to take him away from his life of abuse and mistreatment. Boris is a reckless, seductive vampire who sees great promise in Leonardo, so one night in the woods, he takes his life-but gives him another. Boris teaches him the immortal ways through the Vampyr Law. However, as a newborn vampire, Leonardo fights a battle between his mortal past and immortal future. He must choose to embrace the darkness or fight against those who came before, while still seeking vengeance for his family's massacre and even becoming a killer himself.
