Have you had enough? When will the United States government stop growing? All constitutionally enumerated activities should have been in place long ago. There should be no more expansion in scope, yet there is. What we have now is an overbearing out-of-control central government—expanding far beyond constitutional limits—imposing on member states’ sovereignty. The result is a reduction in competition among states, a stifling business environment, and citizens and businesses suffering under complex taxation and regulations. On top of that, a litigious environment depresses economic activity further. There is an alternative! This book presents one that is very business friendly, establishes competition among the states, and provides a positive environment for the individual to strive for their potential while honoring the genius of the Constitution.

Politically and economically, the future of the United States is at stake. In Restore the Future, author Donald H. Young seeks to galvanize the American people to guarantee a traditional future for our children and grandchildren through participation in a nonviolent Second American Revolution. This Revolution of the people is as justified as the first one, and it would be accomplished by using the extraordinary voting power granted to them by the Constitution to restore constitutional government. Without this Revolution, it can truly be said that the best days of the United States are behind it. In this treatise, he: reviews historical forms of government and shows how the founding documents created the pinnacle of the development of government to date; follows the outline of the Declaration of Independence in describing the many grievances we have with our government today, based on its extraordinary departures from the founding documents, which justify the Revolution; discusses religion, its importance to the Founders, the elemental morality it provides, and the importance of morality to the necessary function of society; discusses the nature of liberty, how it is different from freedom, and why maximizing liberty is one of the primary responsibilities of government; outlines the derivation of and the importance of the rule of law to the functioning of a society; highlights the tragic failure of American education by global standards; communicates the rationale for and critical importance of free enterprise and free trade and why free enterprise is the greatest engine for economic growth and personal development in the history of the world; provides a roadmap for the accomplishment of the Revolution.

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1917 edition. Excerpt: ... (6) Columns for Discount on Purchases and Discount on Notes on the same side of the Cash Book; (c) Columns for Discount on Sales and Cash Sales on the debit side of the Cash Book; (d) Departmental columns in the Sales Book and in the Purchase Book. Controlling Accounts.--The addition of special columns in books of original entry makes possible the keeping of Controlling Accounts. The most common examples of such accounts are Accounts Receivable account and Accounts Payable account. These summary accounts, respectively, displace individual customers' and creditors' accounts in the Ledger. The customers' accounts are then segregated in another book called the Sales Ledger or Customers' Ledger, while the creditors' accounts are kept in the Purchase or Creditors' Ledger. The original Ledger, now much reduced in size, is called the General Ledger. The Trial Balance now refers to the accounts in the General Ledger. It is evident that the task of taking a Trial Balance is greatly simplified because so many fewer accounts are involved. A Schedule of Accounts Receivable is then prepared, consisting of the balances found in the Sales Ledger, and its total must agree with the balance of the Accounts Receivable account shown in the Trial Balance. A similar Schedule of Accounts Payable, made up of all the balances in the Purchase Ledger, is prepared, and it must agree with the balance of the Accounts Payable account of the General Ledger." The Balance Sheet.--In the more elementary part of the text, the student learned how to prepare a Statement of Assets and Liabilities for the purpose of disclosing the net capital of an enterprise. In the present chapter he was shown how to prepare a similar statement, the Balance Sheet. For all practical...

Recent polls prove that most Americans are frustrated with our Federal Government. Professional Career Politicians are in gridlock except for spending us into ever deeper debt. Higher taxes, complex regulation, and ever larger government have slowed national growth, and young people cannot find jobs. Constructive change is urgently needed. This book offers perfectly legal legislation consistent with Article V of our Constitution to call of a Constitutional Convention. When 34 states pass the law, the convention will offer amendments to improve how our government functions. Examples are two-term limits, shorter elections, control on political donations, ethics for public servants, budget discipline, tort reform, a press responsible for truth and respect for privacy, tougher law and order, greater freedom of religion, and more. Amendments cannot be ratified unless 38 states, three-quarters of the states, ratify each amendment. Unsound amendments will never be ratified. These changes will return citizen patriots to service in government and restore our freedoms. We will keep a balance between government and free enterprise, and preserve our freedoms of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Download The Battle Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
America faces a new culture war--one that threatens our long-standing culture of free enterprise. Free enterprise embodies the values that define us as a nation: individual liberty, equal opportunity, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. But the recent economic crisis has distorted these values, leading many Americans to forget the evils of socialism--which, as Arthur C. Brooks reveals, is back with a vengeance. Its proponents are playing for keeps, and if they win, America will be changed forever, both economically and culturally. At once a call to action and a crucial redefinition of the gulf that divides Americans, The Battle offers a plan of action for the defense of free enterprise, the very soul of America.
