CONCERTO No. 2 for piano and string orchestra Op. 24, 1978, 15 min. Strings: originally 6.4.4.3.2. / new version: 4.3.3.2.1 First performance: 25 December 1978, Union of Composers, Moscow, Vasili Lobanov, piano, Orchestra of Radio and TV USSR, Vladimir Kozhukhar, conductor. It is one movement piece that combines the sonata form with the form of variations. Both the principal and the subordinate themes are built as a series of growing intervals: from the minor second to the major seventh, and contain all possible intervals, but with the repetition of some of the pitches in the series. The Concerto is dedicated to the pianist and composer Vasily Lobanov, who performed it on two occasions and even composed the cadenza to it, which was published along with the score (Soviet Composer publishing house, Moscow 1985), but has never been played yet. This is the publication of a new version of the score (for 13 string instruments minimum in the orchestra) that was created in 2014 and then revised in 2019.

This volume contains six complete piano concertos in full score: No. 17 in G Major, K.453; No. 18 in B-flat Major, K.456; No. 19 in F Major, K.459; No. 20 in D Minor, K.466; No. 21 in C Major, K. 467; No. 22 in E-flat Major, K. 482. Also included are Mozart's own cadenzas for Nos. 17, 18, and 19. All six concertos are photographically reprinted from the Breitkopf & Hartel printed text, still considered the standard, authoritative edition for the Mozart concertos. Noteheads in this edition are large enough to be read easily, and margins and spaces between staves permit written notes, harmonic analysis, fingerings, and running measure numbers. Since Mozart's piano concertos are frequently performed in concert and there are several recordings currently available for each of these pieces, this edition is extremely useful for study, reference, and enjoyment."
