An illuminating, reassuring explanation of the Catholic Church’s teachings on confession and forgiveness by the bestselling author of The Lamb’s Supper and Hail, Holy Queen. Jesus told his first clergy, “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” In Lord, Have Mercy, Scott Hahn explores the sacrament of reconciliation and shows why it is the key to spiritual growth, particularly in these times of intense anxiety and uncertainty. Drawing on the history of ancient Israel, the Gospels, the writings of the early Church, and the lives of the saints, Hahn reveals the living, scriptural heart of the Church’s teachings on penance, forgiveness, and reconciliation. It is a story that begins with the sin of Adam and Eve, continues in the biographies of Moses, King David, and the Apostle Peter, and reverberates in the lives of believers today. Hahn presents the Catholic and biblical perspective on sin and mercy, elucidating in clear, easily understood language the true import of Jesus’ simple, yet profound promise–“I am the door; if anyone enters by Me, he will be saved (John 10:9). Like Hahn’s earlier books, Lord, Have Mercy offers thoughtful, authoritative insights into controversial issues and disputed doctrines in a manner that will enlighten lay readers yet is thorough enough for scholars to appreciate. More than just a Bible study, it is a guide for the perplexed, providing practical advice and inspiration that will help readers come to a deeper knowledge of themselves and of Jesus through the sacrament of penance.

For two millennia Christians have echoed the pleas of blind men and beggars, "Christ, have mercy!" These words are part of the historic liturgy (the Kyrie) and have been sighed on deathbeds and in sick rooms and after natural and man-made disasters. But what does it mean to ask our Lord and Savior for mercy? And what about Christ's command to be merciful, even as God has been merciful to us?

Is there any eternal value to your day job? Is it possible to find gospel meaning in your "secular" career? If you really love Jesus, shouldn't you quit your job and go into full-time ministry? How does your everyday work have anything to do with God's mission in the world? Many marketplace Christians have wrestled with these questions in their lives and in their work. But from entrepreneurs to assembly line workers, from high-paid execs to minimum-wage hospitality staff, more Christians are becoming overwhelmingly filled with renewed purpose as they realize that their work has a role in God's kingdom plan. In Missional Marketplace, author Erik Cooper offers his perspective through personal stories and reflections on the sacredness of all work, framing the faith and work discussion through the lenses of The Great Story, The Great Commandment, and The Great Commission. This book will create a gospel-collision between your faith, your work, and the global mission of God in this world.

This is Book No. 3, as well as the last book in the collection untitled WHAT IS THERE BETWEEN GOD AND MAN This series represents the fifty years of my life I dedicated to search and investigate literature in order to find everything I could about God and his relationship with man. Throughout these years, I worked with an open mind, putting aside all paradigms and biases, and I discovered very interesting things that led me to a number of conclusions that were surprising even for me. I found out, for instance, that Jesus Christ is the result of a legend created by Saul of Tarsus (Saint Paul) almost three hundred years before Emperor Constantine I (the Great) adopted Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire. I also learned that the divinity of Jesus Christ was agreed upon at the Council of Nicaea in the year 325 A.D., being promoted and agreed to by the emperor. Christianity became the property of the empire and one hundred years afterwards, the Roman Empire became property of the Catholic Church, with the pope as leader. The pope performs the functions of Roman Emperor to this date. I also discovered that the church worships three gods: Jesus Christ, who is a legend in itself; Jehovah, because the whole Bible is a book that talks about him and his relationship with Judaism; and God, the almighty father. Christianity confuses and mixes these three gods. I also found out that the act of consecration during mass represents the sacrifice and dismembering of Jesus Christ as an offering to Jehovah, and that all Catholics are happy with this crime because Jesus Christ, upon being sacrificed, gets rid of all the sins committed by everyone present. The assembly finishes by eating his flesh and drinking his blood, similar to a voodoo ceremony or to an act of cannibalism. There are many other things you should take the time to consider.
