Chloe Blackthorne is an only child of parents who are rather older than many parents and who are quite strict. One day, she sneaks into the loft which her parents have forbidden her from entering, and discovers a strange telescope hidden away! Chloe quickly discovers that it has extraordinary powers to both see into the future and into the past, becoming her favourite possession as she explores time. One day while using the telescope in her garden, a happy-go-lucky boy named Jack sees her using it and asks to have a look through the telescope himself. Much to her amazement, she discovers that Jack can see exactly the same through it as she does! So begins a series of adventures which get steadily scarier as the two of them look further and further into the future. What exciting and terrifying adventures await Chloe and Jack with their extraordinary magical telescope?

This is probably the only part of writing that I dont enjoy . . . when it becomes about me. I was born in Country NSW (Dubbo) on 15th August 1982. Im No.4 in a family of 5 children. At the age of 2 due to the never-ending drought we ended up moving to the Hawkesbury Valley and have been here ever since. I went to a private school and had many outside interests such as playing a newly restored pipe organ, for 7 years each weekend at one of the oldest churches on the main land of Australia. I finished my schooling at the end of year ten and I quickly embraced a working life. Im currently single and a very busy PA/Accounts Officer for one of the leading Building Certifiers in NSW. The most important thing to me is my Faith, Family & Friends. If truth be told I have always had a passion for writing, in fact when I was little I had grown up saying that I wanted to be Nun writing books . . . Clearly the Nun thing didnt work out too well but alas there is always writing

Named a Best Book of 2019 by NPR “How might we mitigate losses caused by shortsightedness? Bina Venkataraman, a former climate adviser to the Obama administration, brings a storyteller’s eye to this question. . . . She is also deeply informed about the relevant science.” —The New York Times Book Review A trailblazing exploration of how we can plan better for the future: our own, our families’, and our society’s. Instant gratification is the norm today—in our lives, our culture, our economy, and our politics. Many of us have forgotten (if we ever learned) how to make smart decisions for the long run. Whether it comes to our finances, our health, our communities, or our planet, it’s easy to avoid thinking ahead. The consequences of this immediacy are stark: Deadly outbreaks spread because leaders failed to act on early warning signs. Companies that fail to invest stagnate and fall behind. Hurricanes and wildfires turn deadly for communities that could have taken more precaution. Today more than ever, all of us need to know how we can make better long-term decisions in our lives, businesses, and society. Bina Venkataraman sees the way forward. A journalist and former adviser in the Obama White House, she helped communities and businesses prepare for climate change, and she learned firsthand why people don’t think ahead—and what can be done to change that. In The Optimist’s Telescope, she draws from stories she has reported around the world and new research in biology, psychology, and economics to explain how we can make decisions that benefit us over time. With examples from ancient Pompeii to modern-day Fukushima, she dispels the myth that human nature is impossibly reckless and highlights the surprising practices each of us can adopt in our own lives—and the ones we must fight for as a society. The result is a book brimming with the ideas and insights all of us need in order to forge a better future.

An old tale tells of one of the universe’s most prized treasures titled the Araknyd, which was the embodiment of the eight ultimate chakras of the universe. The chakras were represented by its eight legs, which were separated from it. Some said it would grant the user the aptitude to become the ultimate being, and some said it was able to give life as easily as it could take it away. The Araknyd was held inside a temple on a pedestal, dormant, waiting to be activated by all eight of its legs, which were each protected by an oracle, a part of a group called the 8-Legged Anatomy. Along with the treasure, there was a prophecy that spoke of a young man who was immune to poison. He could harness all eight chakras of the universe, and he would be the one that brought them all together. When a boy named Paul meets a ravishing spider named Roxy, she takes him to a place where he learns about the legend of the Araknyd. Before long, they also conjure a demon named Violet that gets added to the team. The three of them embark on a quest, defeating deities of anguish, making baneful decisions, and risking the fate of existence to retrieve those eight legs and not only awaken the power, but stop the completed Araknyd from falling into the wrong hands.

Hi, I’m Francesca Lake, WBCG TV’s medical reporter. Privately, I am on a mission to marry a doctor. After my recent mortifying episode in the ER, it’s clear I suck at self-diagnosis. It all started when I thought I was having a heart attack. I made a cringe-worthy entrance at the hospital, but in my defense, I thought I was DYING. You can ask Harrison Taylor, my dog’s vet. He was the one who carried me into the ER. I used to love my job reporting the social scene, but I’ve been recently drafted as the station's medical reporter . God only knows what diseases I will have to report on. This is not a good thing for a closet hypochondriac! There’s only one upside—medical reporting means meeting lots of doctors. Surely, there will be a few eligible bachelors in the mix… I’m trying to ignore my wild attraction to Harrison, but his forest green eyes, rugged physique and warm smile make my insides melt…not to mention other parts. My adorable dog, Romeo, is in love with Harrison, and he’s convinced Harrison is for me. But I’m looking for a “human” doctor. Harrison is an animal doctor. Do I look like an animal? Well, only on a bad hair day, but that’s beside the point. Marrying a doctor calls for a methodical approach, and I intend to date as many as I can to meet “the one.” I have to ignore Romeo’s blatant attempts to matchmake me with Harrison. But ignoring my pounding heart when I’m around swoony Harrison is another matter entirely… BEACH BOOK SERIES: Each book is a standalone GRILL ME, BABY, Book 1 BLAME IT ON ROMEO, Book 2 (previously titled Paging Dr. Hot)
