Editorial Review 1: What a delightful book about chipmunks! I have many chipmunks in my yard but I learned so much from this book that I didn't know. Lieve Snellings's wonderful photographs are clear and detailed, with beautiful close-ups. There is easy-to-understand information about the types of chipmunks found worldwide and their scientific names. Each photo has interesting text that describes a bit more about the appearance, lifecycle, and habits of the chipmunk. New vocabulary is introduced and explained well. I love the illustration of how chipmunks dig their burrows with all the hidden "snack rooms". This book is sure to appeal to children of all ages who love animals and all those interested in knowing more about the natural world. I love this book! Nancy Rose, author/photographer/illustrator of The Secret Life of Squirrels series. Editorial Review 2: Chipmunk Secrets appears as a very pleasant and educational book. The photos are extensive and diverse, covering all aspects of chipmunks (ground squirrels). The author, Lieve Snellings, has gained a significant amount of knowledge from following chipmunks for a considerable amount of time. It also shows her love for the subject, which is certainly a plus. Young readers will appreciate the well-integrated texts and visual information in the illustrations. The idea of integrating Fiston's character into the world of chipmunks is a good idea, as it directly involves the readers in the story. In general, I am very impressed with this book. Great job, Snellings! Niki Colemont, world-renowned squirrel photographer. Winner of the 2022 National Geographic Photography Competition and Winner of the 2023 European Photography Prize.

Featuring David Sedaris's unique blend of hilarity and heart, this new collection of keen-eyed animal-themed tales is an utter delight. Though the characters may not be human, the situations in these stories bear an uncanny resemblance to the insanity of everyday life. In "The Toad, the Turtle, and the Duck," three strangers commiserate about animal bureaucracy while waiting in a complaint line. In "Hello Kitty," a cynical feline struggles to sit through his prison-mandated AA meetings. In "The Squirrel and the Chipmunk," a pair of star-crossed lovers is separated by prejudiced family members. With original illustrations by Ian Falconer, author of the bestselling Olivia series of children's books, these stories are David Sedaris at his most observant, poignant, and surprising.
