Excerpt from Centennial Program: Trent River-Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Association; 100th Anniversary, 1871-1971 Located on the corner of Willie Street and back Street 2 (two) blocks from Jones County Court House, City of Trenton, North Carolina. Hills Chapel Baptist Church was organized under the leadership of Rev. Senas Hill of Pollocksville, N. C., in 1898. He gave Spiritual leadership to the group for about twelve years. Hills Chapel Baptist Church was first built on Trent River, but in 1916 it was moved to the present Site, under the pastoral of Rev. I. N. Elliott of New Bern, N. C. The Founder Deacons were Brother Albert Powell, Brother Henry Bryant, and Brother Jim Irving. The Mothers were Sisters Maggie Powell, Frances Barber Simmons, Edna Quinn, Lucy Burt, Harriett Barfield and Ollie Meadows. The following Ministers have pastored at Hills Chapel: Rev. Senas Hill, Founder, Tony Pearson, I. N. Elliott, W. A. Hill, Charlie Smith, J. O. Badger, N. A. Sandlin, Dock Stanford, Levi Stanford, Lehman Shepherd, L. D. Session, J. N. Kornegay, W. A. Greene, and, A. R. Frazier, who served the pulpit while Rev. Greene served the U. S. Marine Corps overseas. Also Reverend W. K. Raynor served as pastor prior to Rev. Greene.
