More failures result from this than from any other cause. The necessary conditions are, a proper temperature, sufficient moisture, and free access of air; if the surface of the soil gets baked by heavy rains, it will be impossible for the young seedling plants to force their way through, and the Seedsman is blamed in consequence. For these reasons we explicitly state that, while we exercise the greatest care to have all seeds pure and reliable, we do not give any warranty expressed or implied.
