Excerpt from Catalogue, Nebraska State Exhibit: World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exhibition, New Orleans, Louisiana, December 16th, 1884, to May 31st, 1885 In keeping with a promise made contributors to the state exhibit at New Orleans, the commissioner in charge presents this catalogue, with a knowl edge of its incompleteness. In many instances no invoice whatever was fur nished, thus compelling reliance only on frail paper tags attached to articles when shipped from their original point in the state. A very large propor tio'n of these were lost before the exhibit was installed, or even in the space. Before and since my return to the state, I have made all possible efforts to obtain names of donors, their post-office address, list of articles donated.
