From this point its course is N.w. past Kothley, Cossington, Mount Sorrel, Barrow, Loughborough, Normantou, Sutton Bonnington, and Ratcliff to the Trent, which it joins 9 B.w. of Nottingham and 8 E.s.E. of Derby. From Loughborough to its union with the Trent it divides Leics. from Notts. The course of the river lies through a rich pastoral district.
