Christ calls us to decisive discipleship... but all too often we settle for flabby faith. "The vast majority of Western Christians," claims David Watson, "are church members, pew-fillers, hymn-singers, sermon-tasters, Bible-readers, even born-again believers or Spirit-filled charismatics, but not true disciples of Jesus. If we were willing to become disciples, the church in the West would be transformed, and the impact on society would be staggering. This is no idle claim; it happened in the first century." With the international perspective so acutely needed by American Christians, David Watson calls us to build a community of believers who demonstrate Christ's power, arm themselves for spiritual battle, and demonstrate, by their lifestyle and outreach, their unreserved commitment to Christ's kingdom. Only then will we be able to change the world.

The long-awaited follow-up to the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Sympathizer, which has sold more than one million copies worldwide, The Committed follows the man of two minds as he arrives in Paris in the early 1980s with his blood brother Bon. The pair try to overcome their pasts and ensure their futures by engaging in capitalism in one of its purest forms: drug dealing. Traumatized by his reeducation at the hands of his former best friend, Man, and struggling to assimilate into French culture, the Sympathizer finds Paris both seductive and disturbing. As he falls in with a group of left-wing intellectuals whom he meets at dinner parties given by his French Vietnamese “aunt,” he finds stimulation for his mind but also customers for his narcotic merchandise. But the new life he is making has perils he has not foreseen, whether the self-torture of addiction, the authoritarianism of a state locked in a colonial mindset, or the seeming paradox of how to reunite his two closest friends whose worldviews put them in absolute opposition. The Sympathizer will need all his wits, resourcefulness, and moral flexibility if he is to prevail. Both highly suspenseful and existential, The Committed is a blistering portrayal of commitment and betrayal that will cement Viet Thanh Nguyen’s position in the firmament of American letters.

How Do You Book a Meeting? It's a simple question without an obvious answer. You will undoubtedly ask this question when you first start in sales, you may even ask it when you are starting at a new company. Everyone wants more meetings on their calendar, but they often are missing the knowledge on how to go about prospecting and keeping their pipeline full. How can you close a deal if no one is there to listen to your pitch? When I started as a Sales Development Representative (SDR), my only job was to book meetings. I looked everywhere for a book that could walk me through the process of booking the meeting but I couldn't find it. I learned, like many of us, in the field and got bumped and bruised along the way. You are holding the fruit of my labor, the book that I wish I had. If you are looking for a book to walk you through what it takes to book a meeting, this is it. From cold calling to sending out email campaigns, it is all here. I hope you find this book valuable and a way to avoid some of those "bumps and bruises."

Deuteronomy 10:12-11:32 is a very important text for the book of Deuteronomy. However, it has not received an adequate exegetical treatment so far. The present study intends to meet this need. Following a synchronic approach Thomas Karimundackal examines the text exegetically and theologically in its context. He analyzes the text extensively by referring to its intense relationships within Deuteronomy and with other biblical books. He shows how Deuteronomy 10:12-11:32 serves as a hermeneutical key to understand and interpret the theology of Deuteronomy. As a transitional passage, it connects the former framework and the Law Code in Deuteronomy, and thus forms a bridge. In addition, it is repeatedly connected to the latter framework of Deuteronomy, and thus proves to be a hermeneutical key to the book. From a theological point of view, the unique statements about God in Deut 10 stand out. The author also reflects on the role of the community and the contemporary relevance of the text.

The Reverend Canon Naim Ateek, a Palestinian and an Episcopal priest, writes of the Palestinians’ dispossession of their land during his lifetime leading Canon Ateek to embrace a groundbreaking theology of liberation for his people. Told in his own words, Canon Ateek weaves his personal story within the context of ever-increasing injustices endured by the Palestinian people under Israeli rule and occupation. His story is a gift to all those who wish to understand what justice requires in the seventy-five years since the Nakba (catastrophe) that befell the Palestinian people in 1948 in the creation of the State of Israel, and the enduring occupation that has been imposed on them since 1967.
