Genealogical collection, ca. 1066-1966, covering Booth individuals and families in England and in the United States. Insofar as possible, descendants and relatives are traced, including several direct-line lineages (particularly in England). Several Booth immigrants from England to the English colonies have been located, and progeny shown where possible. These immigrants were chiefly to Massachusetts and Virginia in the early 1600s. There are also some lengthy lines for where the first known Booth individual in the United States was not an immigrant, and his ancestry was unknown. Vol. 1 includes the constitution of the Booth Association of the United States, organized in 1868 to stimulate research in both England and the United States. Apparently there was a hope of proving rights to supposed unclaimed property in England, which hope subsided later. Some Booth family in England were part of the nobility, bearing titles of Lord Delamere and Earl of Warrington. About half of each volume covers Booth-- Boothe--Bothe individuals and families in England; the other half of each volume deals with Booth--Boothe--Bothe individuals and families in the United States. Localities are in Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere.
