In The Spirituality of the Body, Alexander Lowen provides a unique perspective about the nature of spirituality. Lowen views the body as the outer manifestation of the spirit and defines grace as the divine spirit acting within the body. For the healthy individual the divine spirit is experienced as the natural gracefulness of the body and is reflected in the person's behavior. In a healthy body, movement, feeling, and thinking are integrated in grace and harmony. This book includes body-psychotherapy techniques and exercises aimed at alleviating muscular tension and restoring the body's natural grace. This spiritual grace involves a sense of connectedness to a higher order. In this state of grace we feel a kinship with all living creatures, and recognize our connection to our environment and to the world.

Andrea Bottani Massimiliano Carrara Pierdaniele Giaretta What do we do when we do metaphysics? The aim of this introduction is to give a provisional answer to this question, and then to explain the subtitle of the volume. It is easy to observe that when we do meta physics we engage in a linguistic activity, mainly consisting of uttering declarative sentences that are not very clear to most people. That is true, but, of course, it is not very informative. What do we speak of when we do metaphysics? A traditional answer could be: we speak of what things really are, so suggesting that things can appear in a way that is different from the way they really are. So understood, meta physics is about the sense, or the senses, of "real being". A question that immediately arises is whether the sense of being is unique or is different for different types of things. Another question is whether it is possible that something could appear to be, but really not be. Modem analytic metaphysicians usually answer that the sense of being is unique, while acknowledging that there are different kinds of things, and that to say that something could appear to be but really not be is a plain contradiction, unless what is understood is that it could appear to us that there is something having such and such features, but viii Individuals, Essence, and Identity really there is no such a thing.

Having had four children in a little more than five years while running a thriving design business, with the body of a fit runner who does yoga and meditates, Christa O’Leary has become the guardian at the gate of our sanctuaries—our homes. She teaches us to be aware of the toxins found in both our food and furnishings; the detrimental effects of our unhealthy habits; and society’s frantic need to have the latest gadgets, to get ahead, and to be forever on the go. As a designer, therapist, and eco-friendly expert, she’s often asked how she makes her hockey-mom life and peaceful, beautiful, healthy home look so effortless. Well, the hunt for her secret is over! Christa shows us that it’s possible for all of us to feel inspired, energized, and in love with our lives and our homes. Many books address the components found in Home in Harmony, including design, color, feng shui, psychology, clean eating, detoxification, meditation, and finding our soul’s purpose. However, this is the first book that puts it all together in a fun-to-read, easy-to-implement format. This is the formula for living an extraordinary life, and it’s now available to everyone!
