God along with the patriarchs in the Bible clearly spoke of blessings and curses and the power and importance of them. However, whether we acknowledge this truth or not, it is both real and relevant, and it applies to us, our children, and our children's children. After living life on a roller coaster of ups and downs, Billy O'Neal discovered the power and importance of a father's blessing. That same day he made the decision to do everything in his power to receive the blessing of his father. This would be easier said than done because Billy hadn't seen or heard from his father in over 15 years! He left one morning with nothing more than an address to find his father in the North Georgia Mountains. What happened that day changed his future, along with the future of his children's children, forever. This anointed testimony has inspired many to take action. This redemptive true story of a father and son will inspire you to give or receive your father's blessing!

Sometimes, women are faced with an extremely difficult decision. An unplanned or unwanted pregnancy can seem overwhelming for some. Sharing the message of a loving life option and letting women know that we care about them too is so important. My hopes and prayers are that more women will make the loving and beautiful choice-adoption. I was blessed to have been adopted at birth, and I wanted to share my stories in the hope that they will touch people's hearts. The main reason I began writing was to promote adoption and let people know about the help that is available. Each story is unique and special in its own way and reflects my pro-life mission. If you are looking for something heartwarming, funny, or just true to life, you will find it in this book. If you are looking for some type of guidance or help, that is here too. My faith in God, my family, and my pro-life work are the main topics in these stories. The words come from my heart with a sincere desire to help others. Whether the stories are fun and upbeat or of a more serious nature, I always pray that God will guide my hands and give me the right words. Included in this book is a sweet story about my adoption as well as stories about my boisterous family life as a wife, mother, and grandmother of ten. There are some really touching stories about the people I have met while helping at the Sack Lunch Ministry at my parish as well as from the past four 40 Days for Life campaigns that have been held in our parish courtyard. Blessings to you and yours! Bye for now. Sharla.

In Blessed Are the Crazy: Breaking the Silence about Mental Illness, Family, and Church, Sarah Griffith Lund looks back at her father's battle with bipolar disorder, and the helpless sense of déjà vu as her brother and cousin endure mental illness, as well. This acclaimed series that inspired a hit London Weekend Television sitcom is “a long, gentle breeze of humour” (James Herriot). Based on the author’s real-life experiences after completing seminary and later adapted into a beloved British sitcom, these five novels are a humorous and sweet-natured look at Catholicism in the 1950s. Readers of all creeds will enjoy Father Neil’s adventures at St. Jude’s parish, a corner of London with a raucous congregation full of Irish immigrants. Bless Me, Father: Young Neil Boyd has just finished divinity school. A newly ordained priest, his first post is at St. Jude’s parish where he meets the cantankerous, scheming, and brilliant Father Duddleswell and Mrs. Pring, the sharp-tongued housekeeper. Father Duddleswell is willing to do anything to make sure the Lord’s will be done, from placing a bet to obstructing an interdenominational love affair. A Father Before Christmas: The holiday season is among the most hectic times at St. Jude’s, and this year is no exception for Father Neil. As always, he has his hands full with Father Duddleswell, who has decided to invite all the other sects of Christianity to celebrate Christmas with them. The plan quickly unravels when two religious leaders from another denomination try to convert Father Neil and a clock goes missing—as does the church collection. Father in a Fix: After six months at St. Jude’s, Father Neil makes a New Year’s resolution to wise up. With the crazy collection of characters at his parish, this will be no easy feat, especially when Father Duddleswell is named the prime suspect in the killing of a gambling parishioner’s smelly pig and a generous attempt to give the suspected butcher a day off goes zanily haywire. Bless Me Again, Father: After finishing his first year at St. Jude’s, Father Neil finally feels as if he has his feet firmly planted on the ground. But the parish is still full of surprises, and the clergy are confronted with all manner of crisis. First, there is the dilemma of Dr. Daley, whose drinking is causing his health to deteriorate but who worries that sobriety will ruin his personality. Then, much to Father Duddleswell’s chagrin, a new donkey overruns the church, followed by a fresh litter of kittens. Father Under Fire: As St. Jude’s adds another member to its clergy—Father Abe, an octogenarian with an agenda of his own—the church staff finds themselves embroiled in a rivalry among undertakers, a visit during Holy Week from the bishop with the longest rosary on record, a harebrained scheme to promote holy water as a fertility enhancer, and a night spent under a pool table during a pilgrimage.

No! We're not going to do it! We're not going to tell Dad he can die!" they screamed at me. The sorrow cut deep, unfathomable! Grief consumed the very bottoms of our souls, where God had never existed. How many acts of mercy and compassion must a Father perform to prove His love and faithfulness towards His children? Remaining sane amidst the torment of unwelcome spiritual battles, mystifying heavenly phenomena, and unbearable grief made life a challenge. Faith, devotion, and trust in God are tested with this unwanted gift. Decisions had to be made. I Blessed You With Cancer proves there are no neutral stances in a relationship with God. Do we walk towards the cross or away?
