The 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers made an emphatic statement to the entire NFL in becoming the first franchise to win three Super Bowls. After claiming back to back titles in Super Bowls IX and X, the Steelers were bounced from the playoffs early the following two seasons, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of a generational contingent of stars who believed that their legacy still had more to it to be written. The Steelers' explosive offense, through the aerial ability of quarterback Terry Bradshaw and receivers Lynn Swann and John Stallworth, as well as the ground-pounding backfield tandem of Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier, was one of the most prolific attacks in the history of the game. The Steel Curtain defense remained the cornerstone of Pittsburgh toughness, with names like Greene, Lambert, Blount, Shell, and Ham regularly slamming the door shut on opposing offenses. After delivering the best record in the NFL during the regular season at 14-2, the Steelers earned consecutive home playoff victories against the Denver Broncos and Houston Oilers to set up a rematch of their Super Bowl X championship bout against the Dallas Cowboys, who were also vying for their third crown. The Steelers went toe to toe with Dallas in a back and forth affair before seizing control of the game in the fourth quarter on their way to their third Super Bowl victory in five years, further cementing their place among the NFL's elite franchises. This book is the third in the Black and Gold Dynasty series, which details each of the Steelers' Super Bowl victories.

Zusammenfassung: This book is a collection of Nai Xia's quintessential works on Silk Road studies. A key resource in the field of Silk Road Archaeology, it features in-depth content, a broad range of material, careful textual research, and meticulous analysis. With thorough investigations of foreign coinage, silk textiles, and artifacts with foreign styles excavated in different parts of China, it explores the exchange between ancient China and Central Asia, Western Asia, and Europe. In particular, this book provides detailed descriptions of the economic and cultural ties between ancient China, Pre-Islamic Arabia, the Sasanian Empire, and the Byzantine Empire. The research propounds innovative theories on the history and evolution of East-West transportation routes, i.e., the overland Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road. Based on the study of ancient relics and excavated artifacts, it points out that cultural exchange along the Silk Road was never unilateral, but instead, mutual influence and cooperation were obvious. Since ancient times, countries along the Silk Road have had a tradition of amicable foreign relations and the promotion of common interests. The book is intended for academics, scholars and researchers

This early work by the British archaeologist, Flinders Petrie, was originally published in 1914 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'Amulets' is a scholarly work on the varieties of amulets found on archaeological digs. William Matthew Flinders Petrie was born on 3rd July 1853 in Kent, England, son of Wlilliam Petrie and Ann née Flinders. He showed an early interest in the field of archaeology and by his teenage years was surveying local Roman monuments near his family home. Flinders Petrie continued to have many successes in Egypt and Palestine throughout his career, most notably, his discovery of the Mernepte stele, a stone tablet depicting scenes from ancient times. His excellent methodology and plethora of finds earned him a Knighthood for his services to archaeology in 1923.
