Smart, funny, and fresh, The Barbaric Heart argues that the present environmental crisis will not be resolved by the same forms of crony capitalism and managerial technocracy that created the crisis in the first place. With his trademark wit, White argues that the solution might very well come from an unexpected quarter: the arts, religion, and the realm of the moral imagination.

Civil Rights of US is a novel story of Bright Quang. He's creative; this story let him struggle with injustice because he said, "Wisdom must be won the injustice power." The citizen has made general elections, paid full taxes, and not violating any crimes. Thus, the good citizen should be equal before the court systems without discriminate races. Obviously, the rightness or the wrongness of a good citizen, his or her case, belongs to the courts that decided but not to the clerk of the United States Justice Department. He says, "Perform justice, which is peaceful, but anti-justice, as demagogy." Moreover, we live in modern society. When we are struggling to seek the justice within our sharp pen, we are glorious more than everything in our lives. Finally, the best citizen is expressed by the voice of wisdom without violations if the good citizen should be loyal to its national American and American people.

The character of a man's heart can only be revealed by the truths that exist in the wild. until tested by the exacting benchmarks of strength and violence the heart of a warrior will never fully come to fruition. Only in the bargain of blood for knowledge will a man know his mettle and have the opportunity to feel the true warmth of the sun. Only those that have solved the violence equation will know the powerful calm of the settled storm. A high toll is offered to chance and possibility as one ventures into the wild among the savage and unyielding forces of man and nature. Once undertaken the violence equation must be completed in full. Only after a thorough analysis of the passage can one understand the mysteries of themselves and the chaotic patterns in constant occurrence all around us. The following is an account of my journey into the wild as a United States Marine Critical Skills Operator, Marine Raider. The account chronicles my computation of the violence equation in brutal honesty. The joy of becoming a part of an elite warrior tribe, The despair of loosing brothers in combat, and the terrifying rage that reshaped the man I once was. It was the honor of my life to live, fight, and die among the most noble warriors I have ever known. Follow the long winding road of catharsis and healing as I searched to reclaim the full hearted warrior I became in the wild. The search to reclaim my Barbaric Heart. Michael Baldridge is a former Critical Skills Operator, (0372) of Marine Forces Special Operations Command and 10 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He has logged time in Iraq, Afghanistan, and The South Pacific in support of the war on terror. After a decade of combat service Mike has observed the absolute best of the warrior spirit as well as the depths of human tragedy. After leaving the military he was faced with a simple yet elusive decision, face the past, or let it enslave him. Through bracingly honest introspection and analysis, he has discovered the path back to living. Not only living, but thriving as a barbarian armed with the knowledge of the only undeniable truths of this existence, strength and violence. This body of work is the first step in the manifestation of a larger walk of life. A journey to be shared with all who know of strength and violence and seek catharsis.

Word Guild Award Shortlist — Biblical Studies Word Guild Best Book Cover Award Association of University Presses Design Show — Book, Jacket, and Covers Christians cannot ignore the intersection of religion and violence, whether contemporary or ancient. In our own Scriptures, war texts that appear to approve of genocidal killings and war rape—forcibly taking female captives for wives—raise hard questions about biblical ethics and the character of God. Have we missed something in our traditional readings? In Bloody, Brutal, and Barbaric? William Webb and Gordon Oeste address the ethics of reading biblical war texts today. Theirs is a biblical-theological reading with an eye to hermeneutical, ethical, canonical, and ancient cultural contexts. Identifying a spectrum of views on war texts ranging from "no ethical problems" to "utterly repulsive," the authors pursue a middle path using a hermeneutic of incremental, redemptive-movement ethics. Instead of trying to force traditional Christian answers to fit contemporary questions, they argue, we must properly connect the traditional answers with the biblical storyline questions that were on the minds of Scripture's original readers. And there are indeed better answers to the ethical problems in the war texts. Woven throughout the Old Testament, a collection of antiwar and subversive war texts suggest that Yahweh's involvement in Israel's warfare required some degree of accommodation to people living in a fallen world. Yet, God's redemptive influence even within the ugliness of ancient warfare shouts loudly about a future hope—a final battle fought with complete and untainted justice by Christ.
