The media today is filled with powerful men in trouble for their sexual behaviors, and invariably, they are diagnosed as sexual addicts. Since Adam first hid his nakedness from God and pointed the finger at Eve, men have struggled to take responsibility for their sexuality. Over the past three decades, these behaviors have come to reflect not a moral failing, but instead, evidence of an ill-defined disease, that of "sexual addiction." The concept of sexual addiction is a controversial one because it is based on questionable research and subjective moral judgments. Labeling these behaviors as sex addiction asserts a false, dangerous myth that undermines personal responsibility. Not only does this epidemic of sex addiction excuses mislabel male sexuality as dangerous and unhealthy, but it destroys our ability to hold people accountable for their behaviors. By labeling males as weak and powerless before the onslaught and churning tide of lust, we take away those things that men should live up to: personal responsibility; integrity; self-control; independence; accountability; self-motivation; honor; respect for self and others. In The Myth of Sex Addiction, Ley presents the history and questionable science underlying this alleged disorder, exposing the moral and cultural judgments that are embedded in the concept, as well as the significant economic factors that drive the label of sex addiction in clinical practice and the popular media. Ley outlines how this label represents a social attack on many forms of sexuality--male sexuality in particular--as well as presenting the difficulty this label creates in holding people responsible for their sexual behaviors. Going against current assumptions and trends, Ley debunks the idea that sex addiction is real, or at least that it is as widespread as it appears to be. Instead, he suggests that the high-sex behaviors of some men is something that has been tacitly condoned for countless years and is only now labeled as a disorder as men are being held accountable to the same rules that have been applied to women. He suggests we should expect men to take responsibility for sexual choices, rather than supporting an approach that labels male sexual desire as a "demonic force" that must be resisted, feared, treated, and exorcised.

The Cop Critics By: Daniel Burke The Cop Critics is a fascinating book about the unjust criticism modern law enforcement officers are subjected to by celebrities, journalists, sports figures, university professors, social justice activists, and others who know little or nothing about law enforcement, the criminal justice system, or the law. The story contains many actual events and thought-provoking scenarios to support the author's propositions about the false narratives promoted about cops by the cop critics. As society decays, law enforcement efforts to protect law-abiding people are hampered by critics who portray cops unfairly and unrealistically, and who chronically interfere with law enforcement efforts to maintain societal peace. Burke believes what the critics say about cops is a false narrative critics use to promote their personal, social, and political ideologies to the detriment of civilized society.

Emotions. Life. The saying goes that the eyes are the windows to your soul. Given that to be true, then I submit that life's experiences are the lifeline to the heart. For every experience, there is a new piece added to the heart. With each new experience, comes an emotion. Many come with emotions. Many emotions are new, many are somewhat the same, yet independent of themselves. Each also carries varying degrees at which each emotion is felt...each experience a piece, of varying size, of the heart. And it's the culmination of those experiences that make up our heart. Which emotions do we feel strongest? Which emotions seem to control us? Which emotions make us weak. We all experience differently, create differently, and envision differently. We all have varying degrees of emotions, through our experiences and through our creativity and visions. This collection of experiences will take the reader into a past of memories, triggering thoughts and maybe a smile or two. This collection may take the reader into a present thought process, triggering experiences that readers may be encountering now. Finally, this collection will take the reader deep into thought about their visions of the future. This is a feel good collection of poems that will set the reader at ease, yet will delve into some deep emotions. Enjoy!

Criminological research has historically been based on the study of men, boys and crime. As a result, the criminal justice system’s development of policies, programs, and treatment regimes was based on the male offender. It was not until the 1970s that some criminologists began to draw attention to the neglect of gender in the study of crime, but today, the study of gender and crime is burgeoning within criminology and includes a vast literature. The Routledge International Handbook of Crime and Gender Studies is a collection of original, cutting-edge, multidisciplinary essays which provide a thorough overview of the history and development of research on gender and crime, covering topics based around: theoretical and methodological approaches gender and victimization gender and offending gendered work in the criminal justice system future directions in gender and crime research. Alongside these essays are boxes which highlight particularly innovative ideas or controversial topics – such as cybercrime, restorative justice, campus crime, and media depictions. Mayfield Bunny, the new novel by Herbert Feldman, author of Broken Record, is the story of an obsessional search, architected in fantasy and self-delusion. The novels protagonist, Dr. Egon Chernel, has dedicated his unruly, anarchic life to the elimination of human blindness on Planet Earth: Chernels astonishing scientific miracle, source of a certain Nobel Prize, depends upon his uncovering and interviewing Mayfield Bunny, a being of unknown species and image. Chernel gathers a small band of followers, needy individuals, in search of their own slot in society, around him. Chernel, chosen as savior of the sightless, tyrannically drives his disciples through his fanatical, lunatic hunt for his Holy Grail, Mayfield Bunny. Mayfield Bunny is absurd, surreal, but the book is, ultimately, a tragic rendering of the lethal price one pays for a life lived in fantasy and uncompromising delusion. You wont easily forget Egon Chernel and his acolytes in their quest for the mystery and essence of Mayfield Bunny.
