Download Automobile Industry Supply Chain in Thailand Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This research focuses on the process of growth in the automobile industries in the ASEAN region. ASEAN is drawing attention both from the vantage point of its position as an automobile-producing region and as a potential automobile market. Thailand in particular has long treated automobile production as a national strategy, and this research puts considerable focus on Thailand's initiatives. Since 2012, the authors have been carrying out on-site surveys and have visited many of the suppliers that form the local automobile industry; this published research represents a summary of those findings. The fields of specialty of this study’s respective authors differ, so analyses have been made from a range of vectors. In particular, the focus is on the supply chain in what is generally referred to as a keiretsu.

Download The Empirical Analysis on Supply Chain Risk Management With Firm Capability Perspective of Thailand Automotive Industry Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
There are many problems in the quality of the auto parts from the substandard production. This research was conducted by questionnaire and interview data obtained from automotive manufacturers in Thailand. The framework is tested using data from a broad spectrum of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The statistical analysis using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and the level of risks were determined by evaluating the probability of occurrence and severity of risk factors. The results showed the types of risks that arise in the automotive supply chain in a very high-risk level that must be urgently resolved. Its effect on firm capability is examined. The results generally support theoretical predictions and interesting findings emerge.

Download Sustainable Supply Chain Management Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This book presents the current causes and effects of implementing sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) as well as green supply chain management (GSCM) strategies in the automotive industry. The reader is provided a detailed scientific review on SSCM and GSCM and presented the advantages of sustainable development concepts as well as factors causing the implementation of SSCM such as buyers’ behavior, governmental regulations, and competitiveness. The book then analyses the current situation of SSCM development, particularly in the automotive industry. It shows challenges, barriers, successes, and benefits that automotive companies obtain from implementing GSCM. Through case studies on leading German car manufacturers VW, BMW, and Daimler, the necessary activities of these companies to implement green development in the entire supply chain, including green supplier selection, green materials, green transportation, and reverse logistics, are defined. Moreover, a benchmark with companies from Asian markets such as Toyota from Japan and Geely from China is performed.

Download Value Chains in Sub-Saharan Africa Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Development largely depends on how given places participate in global economic processes. The contributions to this book address various features of the integration of sub-Saharan Africa into the world economy via value chains, so as to explain corresponding challenges and opportunities. The book deals with five issues that have not been covered adequately in scientific debates: first, policies are essential to promote value chains and increase their impact on development; second, value chains are diverse, and the variance between them has major economic and political implications; third, regional value chains appear to constitute a viable alternative to global ones (or, at least, are complementary to them), promising better developmental outcomes for the Global South; fourth, political and socio-economic factors are important considerations for a complete assessment of value chains; fifth, cities and city regions are also crucial objects of study in seeking to achieve a comprehensive assessment of value chains.
