"But our delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law we meditate day and night (Psalm 1:2). " The Word of God is a powerful weapon that needs to be a large part of our focus. Sadly, it is often pushed to the background behind our hectic, tiring lives. Arise and Shine! is a light in that darkness. Author Justine Nettleton has transposed the Bible's most encouraging statements into first person so you can repeat what is written in prayer. We must be able to hear, meditate, then speak the words of Scripture to create meaning and further change in our society. The world does this without God and gives the universe the glory, but this was first begun by our Father before the world begana "when he spoke and created the heavens and the earth. Arise and Shine! is an opportunity for those who aspire for great things in the kingdom of God to finally make a change; stand up, Arise and Shine!"

“My Struggle and Broken Pieces” is organized into three major sections. The first covers an entire gamut of issues that arise in an individual's life prior to reaching both natural and spiritual maturity. The book opens by depicting parents as the primary motivators of their children's actions and establishes how their character is formed at a very early age. (Proverbs 22:6) declares we must “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” and the author illustrates how parents do this based upon their knowledge and experiences or lack thereof; in accordance with (Hosea 4:6) “people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” This ironic tone is set early in the introduction, and then the storyline transcends into a dramatic sequence of events; covering the authors' past relationships mixed with a compilation of scripture throughout each chapter. The way in which it transcends, this book does not meet the expectations of a typical autobiography. The story identifies challenges faced by married and single individuals; derived from various facets of life like: immaturity, abusive relationships, bitterness and the list goes on. The character experiences a separation period from Christ and doesn't find peace until ones return to the faith. It's not a replicate of the Bible, yet this book is used as a catalyst to help individuals re-examine their actions; by identifying with real life experiences thru the authors' story line, in hopes to redirect their path. Not only will it allow readers to see things from both a natural and spiritual prospective, it will permit them to enjoy the story line and discover how liberating it is to experience the full spectrum of Christianity after being emancipated from the law of sin. Many Christians are eager to help others identify with the new man, new creature, or the new nature; yet they neglect to unmask themselves in the process. Forgetting, whether you are an alcoholic, drug addict, prostitute, murderer, thief or whoremonger, you are still one in the same; you've only been converted. The author understands that anything that's worth paying attention to must convey a powerful message, so in the process the author unveils herself in a serious yet fun and unexaggerated way throughout each chapter, which helps readers identify with the character before and after the transformation takes place. This literature will help readers identify with real life situations, that may have had an adverse affect on their lives; causing them to be haunted by feelings of guilt and inadequacy. The reader will then discover how true (Job 14:1) and (I John 1:9) are: “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble;” and “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness;” therefore, sooner or later readers will discern why the pleasures of this world are not worth sacrificing the latter glory and will begin to make a conscious decision to make the transformation. They will ascertain how wonderful it is to emancipate ones self from the never-ending supply of energy exerted towards demoralizing relationships and the long lasting effects of materialistic confines of this world; which engenders the struggle to mind broken pieces. The author; like many of the converted, have seen the world in its natural form, and would like to assure the unyielding unbeliever that they're not missing a thing. Some may disagree but this book systematically and humorously points out the flaws of most of the world; yet it reassures individuals it's their choice whether or not to continue living within the confines of the world. Even seasoned warriors (Saints) who spout their constant song, “to be a dutiful and attractive Christian one must receive salvation;” will be inspired and motivated by this literature to acquire a deeper revelation of scripture and a closer walk with the Lord.

You were born with a destiny. Do you know yours? Are you fulfilling it, or have unexpected tragedy, heartache, and obstacles stood in your way? In a world full of divorce, addiction, health issues, abuse, financial struggle, and loss of all kinds, it seems nearly impossible to find your purpose and become who you were born to be. In her book, Becoming Whole, Heather Falter guides you through what it takes to get back up after such tragedies. Heather was an artist first. She wrote this book based on her painting Wings. The painting of a girl holding her broken wing was a piece of art scribbled into her journal and never intended to be shared with anyone. It was a lonely night's attempt at getting out a feeling that had been eluding her for years. As she painted she realized that through unexpected tragedy, and the pressures of life, she had lost parts of herself that she desperately wanted back. She felt lost and broken, and she wasn't sure where to go from there. On the back of her nearly-dry painting that night, she scribbled these words: "I'm not sure how my wings got this way. I'm not sure how or when they broke. It was slow and something of subtlety... My wings were as colorful as they come. Out of my own fear, I've let them fall and turn gray. I've hidden myself. I've tried to be something that others will be pleased with, and in doing so, I've only found displeasure with myself. This image is me promising myself something... That I will pick up my wings and let them teach me to fly. Please, my loving God, let them fly." This book takes you back to the beginning and shows how piece by broken piece she found the girl she once lost. Her story is not only hers-It is all of ours. It is the journey of feeling broken and putting yourself back together again. It is enduring heartache and trauma of all kinds and overcoming them all, becoming stronger than before. In this book, Heather will help you find all of your broken pieces, pick each one up, and nurse them back to joyful health. It is a roadmap to grief, forgiveness, acceptance, self-discovery, hope, healing, and love. She talks of finding joy in each piece that makes up who you are. The pieces she includes are: - Personal Space - Physical Body - Spiritual Body - Mind - Voice - Heart - Intuition - Sexuality - Relationships - Talents This book is full of raw, personal stories, honest advice, and powerful healing practices to adopt that have the capacity to heal parts of you that you didn't know needed healing. Heather's sensitivity, strength, and sense of humor will keep you turning page after page. She is a gentle guide and instant friend who infectiously fills you up with hope. She helps you see that no matter what has happened in your life, you can heal. You can find peace, and you can have joy. You can be who you were born to be. Heather can also be found at www.heatherfalter.com where she teaches courses on Becoming Whole.

In the tradition of Octavia Butler, here is radical self-help, society-help, and planet-help to shape the futures we want. Change is constant. The world, our bodies, and our minds are in a constant state of flux. They are a stream of ever-mutating, emergent patterns. Rather than steel ourselves against such change, Emergent Strategy teaches us to map and assess the swirling structures and to read them as they happen, all the better to shape that which ultimately shapes us, personally and politically. A resolutely materialist spirituality based equally on science and science fiction: a wild feminist and afro-futurist ride! adrienne maree brown, co-editor of Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction from Social Justice Movements, is a social justice facilitator, healer, and doula living in Detroit.

Jay Shetty, social media superstar and host of the #1 podcast On Purpose, distills the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk into practical steps anyone can take every day to live a less anxious, more meaningful life. When you think like a monk, you’ll understand: -How to overcome negativity -How to stop overthinking -Why comparison kills love -How to use your fear -Why you can’t find happiness by looking for it -How to learn from everyone you meet -Why you are not your thoughts -How to find your purpose -Why kindness is crucial to success -And much more... Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others. Heavily in debt, and with no recognizable skills on his résumé, he moved back home in north London with his parents. Shetty reconnected with old school friends—many working for some of the world’s largest corporations—who were experiencing tremendous stress, pressure, and unhappiness, and they invited Shetty to coach them on well-being, purpose, and mindfulness. Since then, Shetty has become one of the world’s most popular influencers. In 2017, he was named in the Forbes magazine 30-under-30 for being a game-changer in the world of media. In 2018, he had the #1 video on Facebook with over 360 million views. His social media following totals over 38 million, he has produced over 400 viral videos which have amassed more than 8 billion views, and his podcast, On Purpose, is consistently ranked the world’s #1 Health and Wellness podcast. In this inspiring, empowering book, Shetty draws on his time as a monk to show us how we can clear the roadblocks to our potential and power. Combining ancient wisdom and his own rich experiences in the ashram, Think Like a Monk reveals how to overcome negative thoughts and habits, and access the calm and purpose that lie within all of us. He transforms abstract lessons into advice and exercises we can all apply to reduce stress, improve relationships, and give the gifts we find in ourselves to the world. Shetty proves that everyone can—and should—think like a monk.
