It also includes programs and journals of the Arkansas Teachers' Association (A.T.A.). The Arkansas Teachers' Association was a professional organization for Arkansas's African American teachers. It was established in 1898 on the campus of Branch Normal College, now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In Nov. 1968, the Arkansas Teachers' Association held its last convention in Hot Springs, Ark., and merged with the Arkansas Education Association (A.E.A.) on 1 July 1969.
