These factors come in two different regards: genetic or biological factors, which include risk factors, such as hereditary factors, chemical or hormonal imbalances, or early brain damage and environmental factors, which include home life, socialization, learning, etc. The more these risk factors are present for a given individual, the greater the chance that he or she will develop Antisocial Personality Disorder. However, this does not mean that all individuals who have some or even all of these risk factors present in them will, in fact, develop Antisocial Personality Disorder. Diagnosis should be carried out by a professional and must be based on behavior, not risk factors. The Symptoms of Histrionic Personality Disorder Two Common Therapy Methods for Histrionic Personality Disorder How to Choose the Right Therapy Approach How to Overcome Histrionic Personality Disorder in 4 Steps How to Find Your Escape Conclusion Topics covered include medication and psychotherapy. An excerpt from the book: Thus far, science is still undetermined as to the possible causes of Histrionic Personality Disorder. There are three possible theories. The first relates to the possible genetic and hereditary connections that can be linked to other mental disorders. There is also the possibility of a social connection with the early developmental environment that the patient has grown up in. The third theory focuses on the psychological and coping mechanisms created that may result in Histrionic Personality Disorder. Normally the disorder has an early adult onset and is not seen until the person reaches their late teens or early twenties. Genetically speaking, there is no scientific way to confirm that Histrionic Personality Disorder is in fact passed on. What can be seen is some of the underlying disorders that may cause or enhance this issue. There is also the fact of the familial relations having the same order and giving credence to the possibility that it has a genetic connection. Some other disorders can be linked. Usually there is a family history of anxiety, depression, hyperactivity disorders, narcissism, and other emotionally based conditions. These conditions, separately, do not mean so much in connection with Histrionic Personality Disorder; however, taken together, they present a possibility that there is a higher likelihood of hereditary disposition. The 9 Most Common Symptoms of Paranoid Personality Disorder 7 Common Therapy Methods for Paranoid Personality Disorder How to Choose the Right Therapy Approach How to Overcome Paranoid Personality Disorder in 4 Steps How to Find Your Escape Conclusion Topics covered include psychotherapy, familial therapy, group therapy, medication, homeopathic remedies, herbal treatments, and Oriental Medicine. An excerpt from the book: Perhaps the most challenging aspect of treating people with paranoid personality disorder is to have the patient accept any treatment at all. As mentioned earlier, people with PPD have severe trust issues and they are unlikely to seek or undergo treatment willfully or even believe that they have a problem. Usually, they attend therapy sessions as a result of an ultimatum issued by either a spouse or an employer. If the threat imposed by these outsiders was lifted, there is a high probability that the patient will cease treatment. Therefore, the first step of treatment is to get the patient to acknowledge that they need help. Once that critical phase has been passed, several methods of treatment may be undertaken. The success rate for each method of treatment is difficult to determine due to a lack of data. Because PPD patients usually do not trust healthcare providers, they are likely to discontinue any form of treatment they started to undergo. This makes it difficult to accurately gauge the success of a treatment program over time. However, there is an indication that improvements may be realized by those who continue their treatment program. Not all methods of treatment will work for all individuals. Treatment should be based on the individual patient's temperament, PPD subtype, and medical history. Tags: personality disorders, Paranoid Personality disorder, PPD, paranoid personality

This book provides a framework for scholars and clinicians to develop a comprehensive and dynamic understanding of antisocial, narcissistic, and borderline personality disorders, by seeing personality as a dual, as opposed to a singular, construct. Converging the two separate research and clinical diagnostic systems into a wholistic model designed to reach reliable and valid diagnostic conclusions, the text examines adaptive and maladaptive personality development and expression, while addressing the interpersonal system that keeps the pathology from extinguishing. Each chapter will discuss core and surface content, origin and symptom manifestation, system and pathology perpetuation, and online behavior expression, concluding with practical guidance on treatment success and effective approaches. Seasoned and tyro researchers and clinicians will be challenged to explore the utility of the DSM-5 alternative model of personality disorders and apply it to further the understanding of these complex, and often destructive, disorders.
