The best experimental resources of to-day serve as his guides. He understands it well, that although it is an undeniable fact that horticulture was for ages recognized as a highly developed art, before botany deserved the name of a science, that the latter has rendered of late most valuable services regarding a more correct understanding of the phenomena of plant life in general, as well as the particular relations of important families of farm plants to each other in farm economy; and he is not less prepared to concede that although barn yard manure.
