Algernon Henry Blackwood (1869 - 1951) was an English journalist and broadcasting narrator, a short story writer and novelist, and was considered as one of the Modern Masters of supernatural horror in literature. His two best known stories are The Willows and The Wendigo, that were both first published as part of his 1907 collection The Listener and Other Stories. "The Willows" tells us about two friends on a canoe trip down the Danube River.
