Adoption God's Way is a children's book unlike any other as it lays out God's love for mankind and how He wants us to love Him and love each other by following His truth. This book shares the power found in adoption; one is the earthly adoption of children into families, and the other is heavenly adoption into God's family found only in salvation in Jesus. Every page of this book can be experienced, felt, and understood by the drawings, the message, and the Bible verses on each page. All three join together to tell the life-changing, soul-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ no matter how young or how old the reader. A toddler can understand the pictures, a teen babysitter can grasp the story, and an adult can take hold of the scripture verses that reference each page. This book is meant to share God's love for every single person whom He created in His image on the earth and to explain the fallen state of our world today. The gospel is the redemption option that God offers to any person who wants to receive it. Each page of this book is meant to spark deep, life-impacting conversations. It was created for those who read it to mediate on it because it's important to your eternity. Going to bed thinking about the things of God is what we all should be doing nightly. I hope this becomes a bedtime book that families will pass on to future generations. Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the world on a cross and His story, the story of the world, found in the Holy Bible should be read by all and talked about by all, continually. This book isn't about religion but about entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the only way to reach God. There are millions of children's books that fill time and are fun, but this isn't that book. This book is intentional and introspective. The pages explain the importance of adoption both in heaven and on earth because we all are up for adoption since birth. There are two fathers battling for our soul: God the Father and the father of darkness. We are born separated from God in this world, but we each have the opportunity to be adopted into God's heavenly kingdom. Our choices here matter. The posture of our heart matters. We can't earn our way to heaven because we have fallen short of God's perfect standard with our sin. But His Son, Jesus, offered to pay the penalty of our sin for anyone who would receive Him as Lord and Savior. His sinless life is good enough for heaven, and His sacrifice is enough to cover your sins if you receive Him. Salvation changes everything about you from the inside out. It's not a tradition or a checklist. It's a personal relationship with God made through Christ that gives you the ability to turn away from a life of sin and more into a life of sanctification. Adoption God's Way makes you more like Jesus and less like you. It's a choice that lasts forever. This book can't save souls, but Whom this book is about can. This book is meant to lead you to the right Father, to be adopted by Him so you and those you care about can know God's love and freely love Him back both now and forever. Love is an action, not a feeling. Love gave Himself up for us so we could choose to be adopted into His family. The most beautiful gift God ever gave to His human creation was free will. We can freely choose to love Him or not. He's a good Father. He won't force you to love Him back.

In this New Studies in Biblical Theology volume, Trevor Burke argues that the scripture phrase "adopted as sons," while a key theological metaphor, has been misunderstood, misrepresented or neglected. He redresses the balance in this comprehensive study of the phrase. "This volume not only probes a neglected theme; it also edifies," says D. A. Carson.

“As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of thy youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate” (Ps. 127:4–5). Have you ever considered adopting but been fearful because of the many questions flooding your mind? Could I love an adopted child as I would one born to me? What if there are emotional issues? Would my family accept my adopted children? These are all real questions and not easy to ask. In Filling the Quiver: Is Adoption God’s Will for My Family?, author and adoptive father Rodney Peavy holds nothing back as he answers the questions you are afraid to ask in a way that is genuine, practical, and heartwarming. He shares his family’s personal testimony of the many challenges they faced in adopting their children, as well as the many blessings they have received. From there, Peavy takes on the questions he and his wife have been asked since adoption first became part of their family history. To the Peavys, adoption is more than just a family decision; it is a faith decision. Filling the Quiver approaches the decision to adopt from the perspective that God is—and should be—involved in the process. This testimony seeks to offer those who have considered adoption a deeper understanding of the impact and spiritual implications of adoption. If you are still wondering about adoption as an option, this book can help you discover this answer for yourself, with God’s guidance.

It has everything to do with dreams and far-fetched ideas and stories. It is about finding unexpected life in a world that seems to have gone wrong. What happens when, one day a fifty-year-old woman with failing health believes she hears God tell her to adopt a child? Then what if, after deciding not to tell her husband, that same night her husband tells her that he has heard from God too, about the same thing? I am that fifty-year-old woman. After deciding that this was more than coincidence, my husband and I began a journey no one in our family will ever forget. Against the odds, miracle after miracle eventually led us to adopt not one but two little girls from China. The journey continued when we got back home. We weren't the only ones that God had been talking to!

Delight in God's delight in you. One of the ambitious dreams that Reclaiming Adoption and its authors share with the Apostle Paul is that when Christians hear the word adoption, they will think first about their adoption by God. This book is premised on the belief that behind the Parable of the Prodigal Son(s) is Scripture's teaching on adoption. The story of the Bible is that God the Father sent his only true and eternal Son on a mission, and that mission was to bring many wayward and rebellious sons home to glory (Hebrews 2:10) in order to adopt them into his family. That is the Story behind the story of the Prodigal Sons. If Christians learn to first think about their adoption by God, and only then about the adoption of children, they will enjoy deeper communion with the God who is love, and experience greater missional engagement with the pain and suffering of this world. Reclaiming Adoption can transform the way you view and live in this world for the glory of God and the good of our world's most needy.

Of all the pictures the Lord uses to describe his relationship with believers, that of a loving father to adopted children is perhaps the most tender. Exploring what Scripture says about adoption and the value of children, Michelle Gardner demonstrates that adoption can be God's first choice for some lives. Weaving her own children's adoption stories throughout the book, Michelle presents a new challenge for believers to do something drastic for a child. --From publisher's description.
