Excerpt from Acts of a General Nature, Passed by the Forty Third General Assembly of the State of Ohio, Vol. 43: Begun and Held in the City of Columbus, December 4, 1844, and in the Forty Third Year of Said State Sac. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the secretary of state shall, on the first day of November next, give notice in the newspapers printed in the city of Columbus, that sealed proposals will be received at his office until the second Monday of December next thereafter, for the printing of fifteen hundred copies of the reports of cases decided in the supreme court in bank, at the December term, one thousand eight hundred and forty five, which shall be printed in the same form and style as the eleventh and twelfth volumes of Ohio Reports; such proposals to specify the price per thousand ems for composition, and the price per token for presswork, the token to consist of one hundred and twenty five sheets, printed on both sides. Ste. 2. The secretary shall, in like manner, give notice and - M t! W receive proposals for binding the said reports; the proposals to mm specify the price for binding in good law-sheep, and also the rate at which said reports Will be put 11 in paper covers. Excerpt from Acts of a Local Nature, Passed by the Forty-Fifth General Assembly of the State of Ohio, Vol. 45: Begun and Held in the City of Columbus, December 7, 1846, and in the Forty-Fifth Year of Said State Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Daniel Hoffman, John Jacobs, and Aaron Waterhouse, of Jackson county, and William Salters, Samuel Crull, and William Noland, of Scioto county, be and they hereby are appointed commissioners to lay out and establish a free turnpike road from Jackson to Portsmouth, in said county, on (or near as may be thought practicable) the present traveled road from said Jackson, in Jackson county, to Portsmouth, in said Scioto county which shall be constructed, repaired, and preserved in the manner pointed out, and by the provisions of an act entitled an act to provide for the laying out and establishing free turnpike roads, passed March twelfth, one thousand eight hundred and forty-five, and the acts amendatory thereto Provided, that if any part of said road hereby established, shall be located within a less distance than four miles of any free turnpike heretofore established, then, and in that case, the taxes levied on all property, real or personal, for road purposes, situated between such parts of said free turnpike roads as may be less than four miles apart, shall be equally divided between said roads, and the auditor and commissioners of each of said counties are hereby authorized to make such regulations for the equal division of said road taxes, and for the appropriation of labor to be performed in payment of such takes, as provided in section 5 of the said not of March 12, 1845, as may be necessary and proper to carry into effect the provisions of this act. Sec. 2. That said commissioners, and their successors in office, shall be a corporation by the name and style of the Jackson and Portsmouth turnpike road company. William P.
