An electric collection of new short stories from the inimitable, bestselling writer of Talk to Me and Outside Looking In In the title story of Walk Between the Raindrops, a woman sits down next to a man at a bar and claims she has ESP. In “Thirteen Days,” passengers on a cruise line are quarantined, to horrifying and hilarious effect. And “Hyena” begins simply: “That was the day the hyena came for him, and never mind that there were no hyenas in the South of France, and especially not in Pont-Saint-Esprit—it was there and it came for him.” A virtuoso of the short form, T.C. Boyle returns with an inventive, uproarious, and masterfully told collection of short stories characterized by biting satire, resonant wit, and a boundless, irrepressible imagination.

Walking Between The Raindrops was written over a period of four years. My poetry collection celebrates those who walk with courage in difficult situations as well as highlighting life-changing stories from the Bible. God's plan for mankind is revealed in nature through his animals like the eagles and the transformation of the tiny caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. I have tried to reveal in a tangible form - the reality of God and the consistency of his character. He is seen in all of his creation. His love and desire for mankind to know him is limitless. Much of the poetry has come out of personal experiences and mistakes people who have come before us have made. Mistakes are to be learned from and not to be repeated. Nevertheless, Our Creator never stops yearning for us to know and believe that he truly exists. He is all around us in every situation and event. He longs to be personally acquained with each of us. This is the message I have tried to convey through my poems.

The poetry within, covers over fifty years depicting the journey of a little girl, to a first kiss. Then a young woman a mother, a wife. And during this time, the heartache of betrayal, drugs, loss of lives, a prison internment and faith in God. Poems of people and attitudes. I am sure that there will be at least one poem that will touch the heart of the reader making all of this worthwhile and the only reason I have to share such personal lasting mementos of the life I’ve walked through. I share my poetry with you to let you know, you are never alone. One day I realized that what “Rod has Inspired, Deborah has Desired & through God has Acquired” the foundation of my writing began.

The blood-drenched Navy Corpsman had it right as he labored to keep yet another Marine alive on the mean street of Hue City: “Getting out of Hue alive is like trying to run between raindrops without getting wet.” Nearly half a century has passed since Marine veteran Dale Dye fought in Hue during the 1968 Tet Offensive. That brutal experience prompted him to write a searing, critically acclaimed novel about the surreal experiences of the battle to wrest control of Vietnam’s ancient Imperial capital from regiments of fanatical North Vietnamese Army soldiers. Now he’s taken a long second look at that fight and revised his original work into an even more powerful narrative of one of the Vietnam War’s most brutal battles. The story is told through the eyes of a veteran Marine Corps Combat Correspondent with the observational skills and off-beat attitude to relate what he sees from the close-quarter, house-to-house meat-grinder of the southside to the epic assault on the enemy-infested walls of the city’s medieval Citadel in a voice that reflects the Code of the Grunt: Just do it—or die trying. There it is.

Fourteen days. Ten parks. Two sisters. One chance to make things right. Seventeen-year-old Elise and her younger sister Wylla haven't spoken to one another in almost a year. Wylla refuses to forgive Elise for everything that happened last fall, but when they both win an all-expense paid trip to ten of the best amusement parks in the country to ride coasters, Elise thinks it could be a way for them to finally reconnect. As the pair set off with a ragtag group of misfits-including a licorice-eating biker, a doe-eyed sorority president, and an Irish guy who's as sweet as a cinnamon roll-Elise hopes the hours of confinement in the back of a van might finally provide an opportunity to heal her relationship with Wylla. But Elise is struggling to recover from a trauma of her own, and Wylla has a secret that could derail Elise's plans. As the girls navigate the ups and downs of their long history, will Elise find a way to reconnect with Wylla, or will she lose her sister, and her sanity, forever?
