King Philip's war, a few years later, made it necessary for the women and children around Sn'ffield, Connecticut, where the Granger family settled, to take refuge at \vest field, Massachusetts, while the men took up arms against the Indians. Launcelot Granger, who commanded a company, was wounded in one of the encounters. \vhen peace was restored, the family again took up their residence at Suffield, and a house was built there which is standing to the present day.
