Do you have a desire... To transfer Biblical values to your children and teens so that they embrace them as their own? To equip your young people to live their lives in relationship to God and others so that they maximize the opportunity for His blessing? In a day when large numbers of young adults are abandoning the faith altogether and many more are living their lives in accord with the values of the world instead of the Word of God, there is a great need for parents to understand the factors that will enable them to transfer Biblical values to their children. It is important for parents to employ these factors so that their children as young adults will embrace the values they were taught. This book seeks to isolate those factors. Additionally, if our young people are going to live out the values of the Word of God, they must know what those values are. If there is one portion of the Bible that is written specifically for young people, it is Proverbs. Its purpose is to equip them to navigate life in relationship to God and others in accordance with His values so that they maximize the opportunity for His blessing. This book seeks to provide a topical study of Proverbs that can be used by parents to build some of its vital values and skills into the hearts and lives of their children. David denHartog pastored a church in Iowa for five years before moving to Texas where he has pastored the same church for more than three decades. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.) and of Phoenix Seminary (D.Min.). He is married to his wife Beth and they have five adult children and an ever growing number of grandchildren.

Contrary to what we've been told recently, our history is by no means secular. It is rich with the influence of God's hand and God's word. His presence is apparent in the documents of our government, on the memorials we cherish most, in our government buildings, in our art, and in the words and writings of our greatest leaders. In a time when our culture is spiraling downward into a moral abyss, we have lost touch with God. We have fashioned a moral vacuum into which all manner of depravity is allowed to rush in, while any trace of virtue, God, or the Holy Scriptures is consciously sucked out. There has never been greater need than today for our people to hear the truth of our godly heritage. There has never been a greater need than today for our people to hear that truth reaffirmed by their leaders.

Someone gave my grandmother, Glana Rodgerson, John Rice's book on "Heaven." She read it eagerly and afterwards she said, "It was a January day, around noontime, while washing dishes, that the light broke through, and I knew I had passed from death unto life." She remembers looking out the window and the sky appearing so much bluer and the world more beautiful than she'd ever seen it. "I had a great joy and peace in my heart," she said. That moment changed my grandmother's life and so began a multitude of generational blessings. Through this book, I invite you to learn how the most important decision of your life can make a difference in the lives of others.
