A Firefighter's Prophetic Journey is a fascinating, personal story of a man's dreams, visions, and encounters with God. For the first time, Hopper recounts his journey through the fires of life, in the physical and the spiritual, discussing in depth the prophetic lessons learned, the profound impact they had upon his heart, and how they have encouraged the faith of numerous individuals along the way. These are stories of ministry beyond the pulpit, outside of the Church, typically one on one with an audience of One. After a dramatic, visible encounter with the angel of the Lord in April of 1995, Hopper writes... "Ezekiel had an encounter with the Lord that left him speechless; he sat by the river Chebar for 7 days, astonished (Ezekiel 3). When Isaiah encountered the Lord in Isaiah 6, he said "I am disintegrating." Many others fell on their faces "like dead men." After Job complained to the Lord for over 30 chapters he finally said, my ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. I abhor myself and I repent in dust and ashes (Job 42). When God appeared at Mount Sinai, the people told Moses to go talk to God and tell them what He said. They didn't want that much of God again. Moses said "The Lord has come near you to put the fear of Him in you that you might not sin" (Exodus 20). Peter experienced terror on the Mount of Transfiguration when he saw Jesus in His glorified state. Saul of Tarsus said "Who are you, Lord?" as he was struck blind. Do I dare compare myself to people in the Bible? Of course I do! That's what we SHOULD do!" With no Christian heritage in his immediate family, God drew Hopper to Himself through this journey of discovery...40 years experiencing the beauty of the Lord, beyond the works of men. As a memoir meant to inspire individuals who are walking through their own fires, these stories will reveal how the Lord does work in mysterious ways. The reader will learn how the path of true obedience faces controversy, can be quite painful in unexpected ways, and how the ministry of Prophet is not one of glamour and recognition. However, it's our walking through these fires that the Lord refines our hearts. People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Why is it when a young boy sees a fire engine screaming down the road with lights and sirens blaring, he is in awe and dreams about being one of those firefighters? Of course it looks cool and exciting, but why is it even through our adult years, we still hold those that ride the big red truck in such high regard? It's very simple. It is because of the pride, the honor, and the traditions they hold in such high regard. In "Saved by the Flame, " author Teran Moore talks about the values and challenges that life as a firefighter has presented him. As a new Christian, Teran shares how his brothers in the firehouse, along with his faith in Christ, have brought him through many ups and downs including his marriage, the birth of his children, and coping with the diagnosis of a debilitating disease. Offering a unique insight to the brotherhood of firefighters, Teran explains how all life's tests we face are part of God's ultimate plan so we can become who and what He wants us to be. The flame saved his life, how can it save yours?

This book or rather group of short stories/homilies are written from a viewpoint of how God has provided truth in the scripture to apply to the many situations that life presents and gives us guidance through pain, fear, failure and success. The reflections that play out in these stories show the truth of Gods promise to be with us and show Himself in life as it happens and that God is the breath and wisdom of our lives, not just a Sunday morning visit to a pew. In whatever we face and in whatever we experience, whether we view it as good and wonderful or painful and trying, God can be found directing us, counselling us and holding us upright in the journey. Jesus is the great friend and the Holy Spirit the great companion as we face the challenge of whatever fires are before us. Through addiction, trauma and life God has not altered, never given up on me and has been faithful to show himself through the greatest storms and during the greatest times of peace. Jesus is hope. Born in Austin Texas the youngest of 7 children I grew up in the central Texas area as the son of a roofer. Serve as pastor of a small Texas town church. Married, 1 son, 2 daughters, 3 step daughters, 14 grandchildren. Saved by Jesus 1982.

I invite you on a world wind tour through my career as a Firefighter. There's everything from happy times to unbelievable horror and all of it is in the real world. The stories in my book are true. They are calls that I ran on over the course of my career. I've seen more than most, being that I was on two fire departments, taught as a state certified instructor, worked for an ambulance company and even worked in a trauma emergency room and ICU ward. There is a lot of death and destruction in the book. There is even times I got screwed over by my fellow Firefighters who I thought was supposed to be a family. All the while I was in it to help people and be the best Firefighter I could be. This is my story...
