The Gospel of John quickly became my favorite book, and the Upper Room discourse, chapters 13 through 17, are some of the best passages in the whole Bible. The Apostle John was the disciple whom Jesus loved. He had a very special relationship with Jesus. John was not inspired to write his Gospel until twenty to thirty years after the other Gospels had been written. His purpose was to bring people back to Jesus. John wrote the five latest written books in the Bible. This Gospel, 1, 2, and 3 John, and Revelation. Reading this book, even a little at a time, will help the reader grasp what John was saying and some of what Jesus had done. The whole Gospel of John is represented throughout the calendar year and a special selection of scriptures for Christmastime that reflect God's wrapping paper for His gift to the world. My prayer is that each reader would draw a little closer to Jesus and their walk with Him.

During the second half of the nineteenth century, Great Britain was home to some of the greatest preachers, biblical scholars, and Christian writers in all of church history. Legendary names such as Charles Spurgeon, George Müller, Hudson Taylor, Catherine Booth, and George MacDonald stand out as giants of the church. Their predecessors, such as John Wesley and Matthew Henry, left them a rich tradition of biblical and evangelical excellence to follow. Americans R. A. Torrey and Charles Finney and South African Andrew Murray were cut from the same cloth. From the classic writings of these revered saints, Lance Wubbels has edited and compiled the best of the best of their inspirational insights into this 365-day devotional. Verse by verse through the Gospel of John, readers will gain an unforgettable understanding of the life, words, and ministry of Jesus Christ. Here is a one-year devotional that is packed with profound biblical commentary, brilliant wisdom, and practical application that will enrich readers and be read for a lifetime.

Jamike Nnorom, an only male child of his family, was educated in the United States of America. He returned to his village in Africa on what he hoped would be a brief visit to see his widowed mother after years of absence, with the hope of coming back to America. Under circumstances he least expected, he could not return, but instead started a family. A male child with an unusual body mark is born to the couple and the oracle offered divination on behalf of the offspring. A Matter of Identity is a sequel to Ben Igwe's Award winning debut novel, Against the Odds. With interest in human and national relationships, cultural growth, and assimilation, he adroitly weaves history and cultural ethos, particularly the philosophical tenets of reincarnation in Igbo traditional society, into this novel. The author's synergistic plot arrangement, and the capsular density of its thematic construct, with myriad settings strewn together by their subject affinity, and rendered with spellbound imagery and folksy narrative, compel the reader to unconsciously surrender to an enchanting rhythmic prose. A Matter of Identity is anthropological in scope and reach; foreshadowing with nostalgic relish, yet projecting a new horizon of mutual reintegration symbolized in Ahamefule to underscore and affirm the inextricable nexus in the afro-diasporic continuum.

Humanity must have food and drink each day in order to survival. Humanity must pause for a time of rest each day in order to maintain the strength to perform the task of the following day. Humanity must enter into some type of relationship with another person each day unless he began to feel isolated and inferior. Just as the physical and psychological aspects of man must have certain needs met each day, so must the spirit of man. We may go with the fl ow for awhile, but deep within the confi des of humanity is the soul. And that soul must experience and enjoy a renewal. Such renewal is found in a daily relationship with the Creator of life. Man must pause from his daily routine and purposefully focus on the Word of God which in turn will enrich, encourage and enable him to face each circumstance and condition that a days activities may confront him. The Bible declares, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 4):31 KJV). Within the pages of this daily devotional, you will fi nd strength, stability and satisfaction awaiting you each step of every day.
