A parenting guide for the twenty-first century parent In an age where the existence of God is being denied, where miraculous encounters are attributed to anything but the power of God, our children need to know the truth, and yes, from childhood. It could be the one thing that would keep their boat afloat when the storms start to rage in years to come. This book will help you to see beyond the present as a parent, with practical advice on helping your children to fulfill their purpose and to be all that God has called them to be. Joelle is a wife and mother and one with a strong desire to see young people fulfill their purpose in Christ Jesus. "Let's pass on the baton of faith to the next generation, and beyond." Joelle

On April 28, 1946, a small group of American wives and children arrived at the port of Bremerhaven, West Germany, the first of thousands of military family members to make the trans–Atlantic journey. They were the basis of a network of military communities—“Little Americas”—that would spread across the postwar German landscape. During a 45-year period which included some of the Cold War’s tensest moments, their presence confirmed America’s resolve to maintain Western democracy in the face of the Soviet threat. Drawing on archival sources and personal narratives, this book explores these enclaves of Americanism, from the U.S. government's perspective to the grassroots view of those who made their homes in Cold War Europe. These families faced many challenges in balancing their military missions with their daily lives during a period of dynamic global change. The author describes interaction in American communities that were sometimes separated, sometimes connected with their German neighbors.

Surveying the past, present, and future of historic preservation in America, this book features fifteen essays by some of the most important voices in the field. A Richer Heritage will be an essential, thought-provoking guide for professionals as well as administrators, volunteers, and policy makers involved in preservation efforts. An introduction traces the evolution of historic preservation in America, highlighting the principal ideas and events that have shaped and continue to shape the movement. The book also describes the workings--legal, administrative, and fiscal--of the layered federal, state, and local government partnership put in place by Congress in 1966. Individual chapters explore the preservation of designed and vernacular landscapes, the relationship between historic preservation and the larger environmental and land-trust movements, the role of new private and nonprofit players, racial and ethnic interests in historic preservation, and the preservation of our intangible cultural values. A concluding chapter analyzes the present state of the historic preservation movement and suggests future directions for the field in the twenty-first century. Contributors include preservationists, local-government citizen activists, an architect, landscape architects, environmentalists, an archaeologist, a real-estate developer, historians, a Native American tribal leader, an ethnologist, and lawyers.

This book in its original form is the thesis submitted to the Senate of Serampore College towards the D. Th degree with the title : An Examination of Swami Abhishiktananda's Dialogical Theology ; now published with written permission with the title : A Christian Dialogical Theology : The Contribution of Swami Abhishiktananda. The Book is both a person-oriented and a problem-oriented research. It focuses on the unique personality of Swami Abhishiktananda and on the unique contribution he has made to the problem of Inter-Faith relationships in terms of Inter-Faith dialogue. Meeting between the Sanathana Dharma and Christianity as a Faith and not as a religion is taken as a case in point, the meeting point between the two being the cave of the heart as Swamiji would love to put it.
