Arne asked if he might speak with Baard. "Go into the livingroom," someone said, pointing. There was no latch to the door, but a handle of brass instead. It was clean and well-painted within, the ceiling decorated with many roses; the cupboards were painted red, with their owner's name in black letters, the wall bed likewise, but with blue stripes round the edges.
