The cartoon WuMo celebrates life's absurdity and bittersweet ironies, holding up a funhouse mirror to our modern world and those who live in it. Thanks to its delightful artwork and irreverent humor, this hilarious comic by writer Mikael Wulff and illustrator Anders Morgenthaler has grown from an underground sensation to one of the biggest and most popular strips in Europe.WuMo's inventiveness is reminiscent of their countryman Hans Christian Andersen--if Andersen's fairy tales had been populated by sadistic pandas, disgruntled office workers, crazy beavers, Albert Einstein, Snoop Dogg, and Darth Vader. Named WuMo, after the Danish duo’s last names, it appears in the largest papers in northern Europe, including Germany’s Die Welt, Denmark’s Politiken, and Norway’s Dagbladet.

Gentrification and displacement of low-income communities of color are major issues in New York City and the city’s zoning policies are a major cause. Race matters but the city ignores it when shaping land use and housing policies. The city promises “affordable housing” that is not truly affordable. Zoned Out! shows how this has played in Williamsburg, Harlem and Chinatown, neighborhoods facing massive displacement of people of color. It looks at ways the city can address inequalities, promote authentic community-based planning and develop housing in the public domain. Tom Angotti frames the revised edition of this seminal work with a tribute to the late urbanist and architect Michael Sorkin and his progressive and revolutionary approaches to cities as well as a new preface about changes in city policy since Mayor Bill de Blasio left office and what rights citizens need to defend. The book includes a foreword by the late, distinguished urban planning educator Peter Marcuse and individual chapters by community activist Philip DePaola, housing policy analyst Samuel Stein, and both the editors.

We use Calendars to help us organize and plan events. I thought it might be nice to have another calendar to use with our Kindles, computers, i-phones, etc. We are all busy. I wanted to offer a pleasurable American calendar with holidays and other important dates that include all of us. We are Americans that come from many different heritages. I tried to include some holidays from our heritages. I missed some, no doubt. I am a disabled American war veteran, a senior, an author, a wildlife photographer and Dean of Jewish Studies at B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC in the Saint Louis Area. My wife, Revi is a cancer, survivor. We feel very fortunate to be in love and to be together. Kaw Naw Nah Har Rah!My intention in offering the poems in this calendar format is to share and stir emotions. I share eclectic poetry. It's all over the place. My goal is to contribute some of the proceeds, whatever they are to good organizations that help others. We are not wealthy. We wanted to try at least to do something that will help others. This calendar with Poetry is our attempt.

From the award-winning author of Bubblegum and The Instructions, a daring new novel about the irony, the humor, and the heartbreak of survivorship. "Adam Levin is one of our wildest writers and our funniest." –George Saunders, bestselling, award-winning author of Lincoln in the Bardo A one-in-ten-billion natural disaster devastates Chicago. A Jewish comedian, his most devoted fan, and the city’s mayor must struggle to move forward while the world—quite literally—caves beneath their feet. With this polyphonic tale of Chicago-style politics and political correctness, stand-up comedy and Jewish identity, celebrity, drugs, and animal psychology, Levin has constructed a monument to laughter, love, art, and resilience in an age of spectacular loss.
