It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Excerpt from The James Sprunt Historical Publications, Vol. 15: Published Under the Direction of the North Carolina Historical Society The following studies in North Carolina political history appeared in the Sunday issues of the Charlotte Observer from March 21 to August 22, 1915. In response to a considerable number of requests that they be preserved in a more permanent form they are now, through the kind permission of the editor of the Observer, here reprinted, substantially in the form in which they were first published. In presenting these sketches of one phase of North Carolina history during one of the most important periods of the States existence I wish to make it clear that the work is in no sense exhaustive. There are undoubtedly many sources of information to which I have not at this time access which would throw additional light on the motives and spirit of the various characters that appear. I have, however, striven to make the accounts furnish a faithful portrayal of the outlines of party movement and action, regarding the entire investigation simply as a preliminary to future work in the same field. They are written in the hope that they may to some slight extent stimulate interest in the whole question of the party history of the State, in which is to be found the explanation for many of the conditions and facts of the social and economic history of North Carolina, not only in the period covered by the investigation but in those extending to the present. In the investigation I have placed my main reliance in the newspapers of the period and in a large number of letters to which I have access. I have, in addition, made very free use of all the secondary material available bearing on the subject. It is impossible in such a work as this to give credit individually, and I therefore take this opportunity of expressing my indebtedness to all the writers who have worked in this same period. I have made use of them all and am under heavy obligations to a number of them. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The James Sprunt Historical Publications, Vol. 12: Published Under the Direction of the North Carolina Historical Society Few colonies could show a more consistent discontent, more bitter party feeling and personal hostility than did North Oar olina. Even more than its neighbors it suffered from foolish laws and injudicious instructions, as well as from bad govern ors. To the rulers in England and to the Board of Trade it must have seemed a hot-bed of bickering and discontent, yet were the full truth known, as it cannot be for the lack of indisputable evidence, it might be seen that this discontent was due to the attempts of a body of poor but honest settlers to get the most of the circumstances in which they were placed, despite the policy of the rulers in England and the self-seeking activities of their appointees. An understanding of these conditions is essential to follow closely the differences which sprang up between the colony of North Carolina and its mother country and which form the nucleus around which the history of the Royal period is woven.
