This is the true life story of my exciting three-year experience living in South Africa as a teenager. Between 1976 and 1979 I lived with my parents and younger sister just a few miles from Johannesburg in a suburb called Bordeaux. The stories recall some of the more entertaining incidents that I was involved in between the ages of 13 and 16. Times were very different back then and it was a great time to be a teenager. Life was exciting and I grasped every moment with both hands and ran with it. I only wish I could be more like that today as I'm sure I would look forward to each new day like I did back then. Please read my stories with an open heart and mind and don't judge me for some of the things I did. I was young and foolish like most teenagers and I am truly ashamed of certain incidents mentioned in this book. Please enjoy and comment in the review section afterwards. Thank you. Colin.

It’s 1976 in South Africa. In the black township of Soweto, Zanele works as a nightclub singer and is plotting against the apartheid government. Her best friend Thabo, schoolboy turned gang member, has troubles of his own--a deal gone wrong and some powerful enemies. Across the bridge, in the wealthy white suburbs, Jack plans to spend his last days in Johannesburg burning miles on his beat-up Mustang--until he meets Zanele. Working in her father's shop, Meena finds a packet of banned pamphlets. A series of chance meetings sets off a chain of events--a failed plot, a murdered teacher, a forbidden love and a growing student movement that sweeps across the country like a blazing fire. When Morning Comes is a part of the Duckbill Not Our War series. The NOW series deals with children growing up in times of conflict--powerless, vulnerable, and yet, against all odds, brave and hopeful of a better future.
