At five out of the last six Olympic Games team GBR has been the top nation in sailing, a result of strong leadership from the Royal Yachting Association and very talented sailors and coaches. On top of twice winning the Yachting Journalists' Association Yachtsman of the Year Award (1984 and 1995), Jim was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 British Yachting Awards.
