Excerpt from The Modern Churchman, Vol. 12: April, 1922 The Rev. Ronald Bayne, m.a., Rector of St. Edmund the King with St. Nicholas Acons, Lombard Street, died on March 27th. Most of his ministerial life was spent in the Metropolitan area. He was a scholarly clergyman, and edited Hooker's Ecclesiastical Polity, Bk. V. For some years he was a member of the Council. Like many Churchmen of his' school, he regarded education and personal influence as the main factors in the promotion of Liberal Churchmanship, and had little belief in the more spectacular methods of organization and advertisement. The harvest he looked for was not to be garnered by the strident voice and pushing methods, but was that of the quiet eye and gentle ways.
