Samuel Miller, Archibald Alexander, Charles Hodge, J. Addison Alexander, and James Carnahan, be a committee to inquire whether any, and, if any, what measures ought to be adopted for securing to the children and young people of our Church more full advantages of Christian education than they have hitherto enjoyed." In pursuance of the foregoing appointment, the following Report was presented to the General Assembly, at their sessions in 1840, by the chairman of the committee, the Rev. Samuel Miller, D. D. and by a unanimous resolution it was referred to the Board of Publication, with a view to its publication.
