Isaacson, Formerly of the Public Record Office, 1397-1407 After many years of travail and trouble the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, and the Trustees of the Cymmrodorion Record Series Fund, have the pleasure of including these two volumes of the Diocesan Records of St. David's in the printed series of original documents published by them with the view of shedding some light upon more or less unexplored periods of the history of Wales. When the matter was first broached, it was intended to preface the work with a full Introduction dealing with certain aspects of medieval Church History, and to point out the value of these and similar Records in the elucidation of many debatable points connected with that history, but the length of the d104 and the full Translation appended thereto, to say nothing of editorial and other difficulties, determined the publication of the volumes in their present form. Having the complete d104 before them, students of Welsh Church History will be in a position to study the details for themselves, and to arrive at, and if thought fit to publish to the world, their own conclusions. It will suffice for us to give a short explanation of the genesis and progress of the work, and to pay some meed of praise to those who, in one way or another, have assisted in bringing about its publication.
